Oct. 1st, 2011 12:46 pmJust watched it on download. (Now that Izhi has made the announcement, I can tell you that I'm in L.A. for her wedding! \o/ I'm reading "sexy Scripture," as she calls it. More on that later. Busy, busy day.) And I met kalquessa in person for the first time yesterday! \o/ And if there are weird typos in this, it's because I just painted my nails.
( But I must take a moment to flail )
Now to set my mind to wedding things. (Will write more specifically about it all later.) Don't know when I'll get my long and rambly done; it might have to wait until I'm home. I shall certainly try to have it done before the next ep airs.

Apr. 22nd, 2009 04:28 pmHappy birthday, my dear friend. I'll try to wish you a proper b-day on your actual b-day, but given my travel plans this weekend, I don't know if that will be possible. And your present will have to be delayed until I get back, I'm afraid.
So happy birthday, my dear, dear friend. Though we don't keep in contact like we used to (remember the days of multiple e-mails a day? Entire conversations, even), you've seen me through a lot of stuff, been privy to some major milestones of my life, been adventuring with me, and in general just been all around awesome.
Though a continent and three time zones divide us, you're never far from my thoughts.

Oct. 28th, 2008 07:52 pmI do believe it was exactly one year ago yesterday that izhilzha introduced me to this show she really liked called Supernatural. She was here for a visit, and I told her on Thursday that if my understanding of SPN was correct, then she would probably really like The Lost Boys. (I'll have to do a comparison post between the two.) We watched the movie after SPN, and I do believe she did enjoy the movie (I recall she was rather impressed with a young Keiffer Sutherland), then I shared with her The Haunting (the original 1960 version, because the remake was little more than a mass hallucination that didn't happen).
Then on Oct. 27 (Saturday), she sat me down to watch the pilot episode of SPN. Which was really cool! And I thought, okay, now I know who this Sam and Dean are that she talks about. And I thought Geo would probably like it. So we watched "Wendigo." Which wasn't as good as the pilot, and I was worried that Geo would find the show cheesy, so I insisted that we go back and watch the pilot again. And after watching "Dead in the Water," between the '67 Chevy Impala and the classic rock and the arsenal in the secret compartment, Geo says, "We have to get these discs." It was at that point I knew I was doomed.
And with the purchase of these discs and further exposure to Jensen Ackles' incredible acting skills, and the creepy good stories, and the chemistry between the Boys, the rest is pretty much history.

Earthquake spam
Jul. 29th, 2008 04:33 pmSo suddenly my f-list is getting spammed by earthquake posts. Well, if you can call three posts from three different people a spam. So I shall just say here that I'm glad y'all are okay and that it added a dimension of excitement to your day.
In other news, our kitchen ceiling fell in last night. It had nothing to do with earthquakes.

After discovering fromsarcasticval that ComiCon's Sunday schedule is available, I toddled over to the ComiCon site and checked out what was doing.
Please note:
1) Spoilers will not be tolerated. If you spoil me, I will ask Bobby Singer himself to whammy-hex you so that you never again enjoy a surprise twist on this or any other of your favorite shows. You have been warned.
2) I would request that you point me in the direction of some tasteful accessories that will complement the nice shade of green I now sport.
3) Izhi and Val? Please be sure to keep Cheese Elf out of cheek-pinching reach of Mr. Padalecki. I do not want to be reading about her on-line after the con.
4) Izhi and Kalquessa? I request the same vigilance for Val in regards to Mr. Ackles.
5) Videos, videos, videos. Oh, and did I mention I want to see videos?
6) Photos would be good, too.
7) Have a grand time.

Jun. 30th, 2008 07:13 pmWhen I got home from the LoC today (a progress report on Still Life will come later), there was a mysterious package from izhilzha waiting in my mailbox. I opened it up and was surprised and delighted to find . . .
. . . a wool scarf of the MacFarlane clan tartan!
Prior to her recent journey to Scotland, I asked Izhi to keep an eye out for anything with the MacFarlane tartan. I've got some Scotch-Irish McFarland blood, you see, and the McFarlands originated with the MacFarlanes. There's even a bit of history included with the scarf.
