D - Dog's name: Cats. If I had a dog, it would be a German shepherd or a "wolf-looking" dog like a husky, malamute, or elkhound, and I'd give her a very clever name. The cats' names are Isis, Pippa Picassa, and Chloe Calypso.

F - Favorite color: Mostly green, though all of them, depending on use and context.

L - Living arrangements: 2-bedroom, 3-bath house on 1.3 acres. With my husband. Mortgage.

N - Nicknames: Currently, no nickname (weird, huh), though growing up, it was Fish.
O - Overnight hospital stays other than birth: Abdominal surgery back in the early '90s (1992?, 1993?).
P - Pet Peeves: Constant, on-going, continual questions that seem to come from nowhere.

I did this meme just shy of two years ago. Given that my f-list has changed a bit, and there's been two years in the meantime, I think it's time to revisit the meme.


What has surprised you the most about me (if anything) since beginning to read my lj? Was anything completely unexpected or have I always fit the picture of me you have in your head?

I usually consider myself pretty easy to read, if one is paying attention. Yes? No? Am I a riddle wrapped inside an enigma wrapped inside a taco? Or am I totally lacking in any mysterious mystique whatsoever?

This is a meme that's been going around FB. Since I don't post to FB very often, I thought I'd post it here. The jist is, go to urbandictionary.com and do a search on your name. The first one, regarding the etymology of my name, I already knew. But the rest of it sort of came as a surprise.

Day 7 (Saturday) . . . um . . . well . . . a pretty quiet day. So I'll say here that I'm happy my complexion has been behaving for the past several days. It's nice to be without pain.

Day 8 (Sunday) . . . the Beth Moore Bible study I'm doing at church is really good. Of course, Beth Moore studies are always good--in-depth, intense, they really make you stretch and apply yourself. Good stuff.

And today there are snow flurries in the air. Which is kind of nice. I didn't think we were going to get any snow this year at all.

I've been lax these last couple of days. Admittedly, being sick has made finding the happy perhaps more difficult than it should be, but here's a bit of a catch-up:

Day 4 . . . I was able to get out of the house and go to work. True, I would rather have stayed home another day, but the fact that I felt well enough to go to work is a good thing, right? Plus, paycheck.

Day 5 . . . cashing of the paycheck. Another day at work. Supernatural!!!! (Though I wasn't nearly as happy after SPN as I was before it. More on that later.)
