You have seen Dirty Dancing, though, right?

Chocolate Citrus Cake (http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/chocolate-citrus-cake-with-candied-oranges-10000001940908/). I highly recommend using a stand mixer if you have one, because the batter becomes very thick. It's always a big hit at parties. One of my cousins said that she broke out in a sweat eating a piece.

No, I have not. Please don't judge me- lol! My knowledge of movies made between 1970 and 2000 are very limited :P

Thanks for the recipe- that looks incredible! I will have to try it!

Dirty Dancing is a really fun movie. It's kind of cliché with the plot (rich girl falls for bad boy dancer during a summer in the Catskills), but there's a lot of great music and dancing in it. It was one of those sleeper hits of the summer of 1987 and came out of nowhere to be a huge hit. The soundtrack to the movie was pretty much the soundtrack to my freshman year of college.

I you're sketchy on movies from that era, you must remedy that ASAP.

Star Wars
Empire Strikes Back
Raiders of the Lost Ark (my cousin, brother, and I spent at least one afternoon a week at the movies that entire summer seeing Raiders. It must be seen on the big screen to be truly appreciated.)
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
The Lost Boys (because seriously, if you love SPN, you'll love The Lost Boys. There are so many similarities between the two that the first time I saw the pilot of SPN, the very next thing I wanted to do was show Izhilzha Lost Boys.)

I'm sure I could come up with a ton more, but that should keep you busy over the long Memorial Day weekend. :-)

Star Wars and Raiders are about the only 80's movies I have seen- and Back to the Future :) But those others sound really good so I'll check them out :)

Nitpick: Star Wars came out in 1977. Empire Strikes back came out in 1980.

Have you seen E.T.? (1982, iirc). Add that to your list.

Back to the Future is awesome.

Also, Ghostbusters.

Check out Jaws, also.

Ha! Right now, from other people. With my new position working with volunteers and the public, I sometimes think, "How does your brain work that you would even come up with that question?" Not that they're bad questions, just . . . how would you even come up with that question?
