I do believe it was exactly one year ago yesterday that
izhilzha introduced me to this show she really liked called
Supernatural. She was here for a visit, and I told her on Thursday that if my understanding of SPN was correct, then she would probably really like
The Lost Boys. (I'll have to do a comparison post between the two.) We watched the movie after SPN, and I do believe she did enjoy the movie (I recall she was rather impressed with a young Keiffer Sutherland), then I shared with her
The Haunting (the original 1960 version, because the remake was little more than a mass hallucination that didn't happen).
Then on Oct. 27 (Saturday), she sat me down to watch the pilot episode of SPN. Which was really cool! And I thought, okay, now I know who this Sam and Dean are that she talks about. And I thought Geo would probably like it. So we watched "Wendigo." Which wasn't as good as the pilot, and I was worried that Geo would find the show cheesy, so I insisted that we go back and watch the pilot again. And after watching "Dead in the Water," between the '67 Chevy Impala and the classic rock and the arsenal in the secret compartment, Geo says, "We have to get these discs." It was at that point I knew I was doomed.
And with the purchase of these discs and further exposure to Jensen Ackles' incredible acting skills, and the creepy good stories, and the chemistry between the Boys, the rest is pretty much history.
