My weekend in Ohio )

Upcoming thespian endeavor )

Okay, so, enough babbling from me for now? Yeah, probably. It's overcast and rainy out, and the office is, as usual, very quiet. I'm still in limbo with my medical stuff, but I'm going to try to get to zumba class tonight, if I can get the grocery shopping done.

The Li'l Bro just left from a weekend visit. It was a nice, un-pressured affair, just schlepping around C'peper, sharing TV shows, checking out a couple of antique/junk stores.

It was a good visit.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday with their loved one(s), whether that be spouse, family, and/or friends. Happy Valentine's Day (a day late).

I spent a really good day shopping with my mom and MiL. I don't really like shopping alone, but I hate dragging Geo along when I need to shop for clothes because, you know, he's really not that into it. :-) But I got some nice things--and a great deal on a pair of jeans: $5 for a pair!

And Geo put new lights up in the basement for me for V-Day. So now I can actually see what I'm doing when I sort laundry! Yay!

We took the parents out to one of the nice restaurants here in Culpeper. I think they had a really nice time.

I do believe it was exactly one year ago yesterday that [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha introduced me to this show she really liked called Supernatural. She was here for a visit, and I told her on Thursday that if my understanding of SPN was correct, then she would probably really like The Lost Boys. (I'll have to do a comparison post between the two.) We watched the movie after SPN, and I do believe she did enjoy the movie (I recall she was rather impressed with a young Keiffer Sutherland), then I shared with her The Haunting (the original 1960 version, because the remake was little more than a mass hallucination that didn't happen).

Then on Oct. 27 (Saturday), she sat me down to watch the pilot episode of SPN. Which was really cool! And I thought, okay, now I know who this Sam and Dean are that she talks about. And I thought Geo would probably like it. So we watched "Wendigo." Which wasn't as good as the pilot, and I was worried that Geo would find the show cheesy, so I insisted that we go back and watch the pilot again. And after watching "Dead in the Water," between the '67 Chevy Impala and the classic rock and the arsenal in the secret compartment, Geo says, "We have to get these discs." It was at that point I knew I was doomed.

And with the purchase of these discs and further exposure to Jensen Ackles' incredible acting skills, and the creepy good stories, and the chemistry between the Boys, the rest is pretty much history.

Okay, so. Instead of [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha's "10 Things That Make Me Happy" post, I'm just going to give a list of good things that have happened in the past month or so.

[livejournal.com profile] izhilzha's Visit:

The weekend before Halloween, Izhi came to visit for a few days. What fun! We spent a day in Washington, DC, and a lot of time watching movies and TV shows.

Saturday and TV )

Okay, I think the rest will probably have to wait for another post. It's late, my brain is mushy from 3 eps of SPN, and I'm toddling off to bed.
