So, last week Geo and I went back to Ohio so he could record 12 more episodes of his radio show and I could visit with family. (Point of interest: Geo and JT recorded their 100th ep while we were there. I am . . . amused . . . at the coincidence.)

I got to stop by the PAC and see my old theater peeps. I miss them so.

I gave away all the baby blankets I've crocheted--2 to my Cousin J for her two grandbebes, one to PAC cohort SD, who has a new bebe, and one to 3PO (That's The Threepenny Opera, not C-3PO) Director, who is expecting later this summer. Everyone was very, very pleased with the gifts.

Watched SPN with my mom, which was fun.

The parents and I went to see the student production on the main stage, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940. It was hilarious! I know exactly which part I want to play if I ever had a chance. (Once upon a time, long, long ago, an acting coach told me I could be an amazing character actress. Thus I find that over the years I've been much drawn to such roles.)

Li'l Bro and SiL came for a visit, too. It's always good to see them.

Oh! And I got my birthday present finally! A Kitchenaid Artisan stand mixer in bayberry green (a forest or hunter green). Can't wait to try it out!

On May 2, Geo and I are taking part in the kick-off of the new book our local writer's group has published. We and a few other people will be reading selections from the anthology. I'm actually rather excited, because readers theater is one of my favorite formats in which to perform.

These stories have also made me wonder if I should join the group to give me the motivation to finish my short story, and to publish some of my poetry. I think I'd want to find out if I get to retain the rights to my work (I think I would, given the nature of the group as a community organization), and if it's something I could continue with. I've got several things I wrote during my creative writing class many moons ago, and I'd kind of like to share them with others.

One piece that I particularly want published is "Hands, masculine," which I've posted here in my LJ before (under f-lock) but which does not feel quite finished. I looked at it again today, and I think I know what tweaks I want to make. Some of you have read it before. I'm thinking about posting it (f-locked) again. A certain recent video I've seen got the poem running through my head again.

Okay, so, enough babbling from me for now? Yeah, probably. It's overcast and rainy out, and the office is, as usual, very quiet. I'm still in limbo with my medical stuff, but I'm going to try to get to zumba class tonight, if I can get the grocery shopping done.

Hi! I'm so glad you had such a good trip! *hugs*

Speaking of your crocheted things, I opened your birthday gift and oh, it is lovely! I think I shall certainly be wearing it soon. Thank you so much, amiga!

Oh, I'm glad you like it. I was very pleased with how it turned out.

Now I can post the pictures to my gallery when I get home. :-)

Happy Birthday, sweetie!

Sounds like a fun visit - I think I remember that poem and it was very evocative. :)
