That looks really cool, doesn't it? 11/11/11=16.

Today marks sixteen years of wedded bliss. Happy Anniversary to my sweet babboo.

. . . and they're not wrong.

We spent 15 years of wedded bliss celebrating with one of the most passionate couples in pop cult history.

But first . . .

Wednesday (Nov. 10) )

Thursday (Nov. 11) )

Friday (Nov. 12) )

I will post in much detail about yesterday's anniversary activities. It was exhausting, but fun, and the play was FANTASTIC! I was in the same theater with Bebe Neuwirth and Nathan Lane! They were RIGHT THERE! It was great. But as I said, more details when I get home.

Also, I have no appropriately somber or commemorative thoughts for Veteran's Day, but it looks like much of my f-list has covered that base anyway.

Finally . . . so what's this about the latest wank? Having adventures in the big city tends to limit time for wank-watching. Anyone care to explain? Do I really want to know?

Time to go get breakfast, hit Macy's one more time, then hop the train back to C'Peper. Home in time for Show tonight. Yay! \o/

I am, as I type this, sitting in our room at the Hotel Pennsylvania. We AmTraked it from C'peper to NYC today, leaving around 9:45am and arriving around 3:30pm.

After checking in, we headed out to explore the city. We're only a block from Macy's, so we cruised around there. Then we walked down to Time Square. Had pizza (NY pizza--YUM) in a little hole-in-the-wall pizzeria (it was de-lish). We found and walked past the Lunt-Fontaine Theatre, which is where the show is tomorrow, and we made reservations at Sophia's for dinner prior to the show. And we stopped in the big Hershey store. Both Macy's and Hershey's are decked out for Christmas.

Lots of walking, LOTS of people. Ya gotta stay in physical contact with your companion, or you'll lose sight of each other really quickly. Lots of walking against the signals, and for a city where "no one" drives cars, there are a freakin' lot of cars. And car horns.

It's really kind of overwhelming. Almost sensory overload. It's pretty exciting.

I've been wanting and meaning to write up some thoughts that have occurred to me regarding Show over the past couple of days. The problem is, when the thoughts are clear and enumerated in my head, I'm too busy stop and write them, and when I have the time to write them, they're back to being muddled.

But we'll give it a try anyway. )

I think that's it. I'm still adjusting to the time change, and my body is ready to go to bed now.

Geo and I are getting ready to celebrate our 15th anniversary on Thursday. We'll be spending the evening with the Family--the Addams Family, of course--at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. We are so looking forward to it.

Yesterday was a good day.

The weather has cooled off, and it looks like we got some much-needed rain last night.

It was a lazy day when I didn't have to be anywhere or do anything.

Geo and I went shopping, and I got a new pant suit at JCPenney, on sale. I love JCP sales. They're awesome. This is the new outfit I'm planning on wearing for our anniversary* if I don't find anything I like better in the meantime.

We also went to Lowe's, and I bought two pieces of bathroom fixtures for the master bath. Eventually, that room will get done.

MY SPN SOUNDTRACK ARRIVED! *bounce, bounce* There's some good, good stuff on that. I like TV and movie soundtracks anyway, but this is great. It's got all my favorite original stuff--Dean's guitar riff, the hard-driving music that accompanied the break-in at the auction house in "Provenance," and the melodic, heart-hurty stuff that accompanies the heart-to-heart talks, that chronicles the brothers' emotional journey, their greatest hurts and their fondest memories. (Hey, question: Can someone confirm which passage of music is the one that usually accompanies Dean's family moments? I think I know where it is, but some music is used for so many noteworthy scenes that my brain can't focus on one.)

All in all, a very contented day.

*For our fifteenth anniversary, Geo and I are taking the train up to NYC to see The Addams Family Musical, starring Bebe Neuwirth and Nathan Lane. I'm very excited. First time to travel by train, first trip to NYC, let alone seeing a show on Broadway, and my love of the Addamses requires a separate entry.

Many thanks for the anniversary wishes, dear f-list. It was a day of extremes. :-) I won't go into the household drama, but overall it was a fine, if rainy day. It rained on our wedding day, too, so in a way it was appropriate.

Geo gave me a lovely citrine pendant (appropriate for November, as it is one of November's birthstones). We ate at Panda Express (which was okay, but I'm used to family-owned Chinese, so it wasn't up to par with what I'm used to), then went to the movie, which we both enjoyed very much.

A very good day.

Also, Happy Friday the 13th.

Geo and I went to see the Michael Jackson movie This Is It this afternoon. Many thinky thoughts. )
feliciakw: (Love)
Happy anniversary, sweetie. Thank you for 14 wonderful years.
feliciakw: (Dean & Jamie - kiss)
I've been thinking a lot the past day or so about Jensen and Danneel's engagement. The news is particularly touching for me because it comes at a very apropos time. You see, Geo and I will be celebrating our 14th anniversary tomorrow. I write this as I wait for him to get home from his week-long trip to St. Louis.

Well wishes for the happy couple )

Yesterday was Geo's and my 13th anniversary. "Lucky 13" as everyone was calling it. :-) Our activities were much more subdued than the past several years, since neither of us knew how I would feel after the surgery.

Last year, we went to Jamestown. (I'd always intended to make a post, but I don't think I did).

For #11 (before the move), we went to Newport Aquarium in Kentucky.

For #10, we went to Nashville and Memphis, which was a grand time--dinner at the Peabody, touring Sun Studios and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Graceland.

Yesterday we simply went to Potomac Mills mall. Not what I was expecting from an outlet mall, but we did find a couple things we'd each been wanting/needing.

Plus, we had BIG PRETZELS. And they were tasty, too.

Then we had dinner at Ruby Tuesday's here in Culpeper.

So it was a pleasant, if low-key, day.

I do believe it was exactly one year ago yesterday that [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha introduced me to this show she really liked called Supernatural. She was here for a visit, and I told her on Thursday that if my understanding of SPN was correct, then she would probably really like The Lost Boys. (I'll have to do a comparison post between the two.) We watched the movie after SPN, and I do believe she did enjoy the movie (I recall she was rather impressed with a young Keiffer Sutherland), then I shared with her The Haunting (the original 1960 version, because the remake was little more than a mass hallucination that didn't happen).

Then on Oct. 27 (Saturday), she sat me down to watch the pilot episode of SPN. Which was really cool! And I thought, okay, now I know who this Sam and Dean are that she talks about. And I thought Geo would probably like it. So we watched "Wendigo." Which wasn't as good as the pilot, and I was worried that Geo would find the show cheesy, so I insisted that we go back and watch the pilot again. And after watching "Dead in the Water," between the '67 Chevy Impala and the classic rock and the arsenal in the secret compartment, Geo says, "We have to get these discs." It was at that point I knew I was doomed.

And with the purchase of these discs and further exposure to Jensen Ackles' incredible acting skills, and the creepy good stories, and the chemistry between the Boys, the rest is pretty much history.

Today is many things . . .

First and foremost to me is it's my and Geo's 12th anniversary.

Second, my LJ calendar thingy tells me it's [livejournal.com profile] kerravonsen's b-day. Happy B-Day! And many more!

Third, it's Veteran's Day here in the US, which means federal holiday tomorrow remembering our veterans, which means Geo gets the day off. So we're going to take some time and actually, like, spend more than just an evening together.

Methinks I'll be back later with a post not about the "10 things that make me happy" but with a post of good things that have happened recently.

On a related note, unpasteurized, hardened (but not alcoholic) cider is a gift from God.
