I must share while I'm thinking about this. (Hopefully will get to my "highlights reel" soon.)

We all know Jensen is a fantastic actor. We all know he can play opposite just about anyone, even himself. We all know he can dig deep and bring out emotions so subtly that it makes us weep. Or laugh. Or whatever. He can deliver three pages of dialogue by moving nothing but his left ear.

Are you paying attention, Emmy? )

It was requested that include more ticky boxes in my commentaries this year. Sadly, I've been remiss in this. So . . .

We've only got a couple days before the new ep, so I thought I'd get this posted while it's still somewhat relevant to where we are in the season.

I've been seeing a lot of discussion on the interwebz, discussion both villifying Dean for his actions, as well as taking up for Dean. The extremes to which these arguments have gone make me somewhat uncomfortable. And I've seen the word "absolutely" used in at least one instance. "Dean was absolutely right to do what he did." I'm sure someone has made the converse argument: "Dean was absolutely wrong to do what he did."

But this is not about *absolutes*, it's about moral ambiguity. )

All right, my resourceful f-list. I've run across (part of) a SPN still, and I'm really curious as to where I can find the original/full piccie. And context, too, would be cool.

Go to this link.
Scroll down to "Short-Sleeved Tees." The first one (upper left of the section), where Sam, Jess, and Louis seem to be heading to the Halloween party.

Also, when your finished research, check out the link to the Dean Winchester Clothing Catalogue as well.

Lost Boys

I think I need to pull out our disc of The Lost Boys. For those of you who haven't seen it, and are SPN fans, you totally should. It's almost eerie how much they have in common.

So, after nearly three years living in my new area of residence, I'm finally finding more than just one radio station for my car radio. (We live in such a remote area that our selection is somewhat limited.)

What stations have I found (besides the contemporary Christian)? . . .

The rock station (both classic and newer). I think of it as the "Dean" station.

A station that goes by the call sign SAM FM. It plays the most eclectic variety of pop and rock I think I've ever heard, from all over the calendar.

And of course there's the adult contemporary/mix station, WINC FM, out of . . . wait for it . . . Winchester.

Between the rock station and SAM FM, it was like I was listening to my SPN soundtracks on the way home from C'Ville today. For realz.

I'm amused.

To share with my f-list.

[livejournal.com profile] izhilzha and [livejournal.com profile] kalquessa each wrote me a little something for my birthday. Go and read.

Paid Back A little Dean-h/Sam-c, because that's how I roll.

Capacity Wherein there is baggage, both literal and metaphorical.

Also, Geo made a very tasty cake. But blowing out sparkler candles really doesn't work.

Geo and I are back. The kitties are still here and have not destroyed the place with wanton partying.

Though the circumstances were sad, it was still good to see the fam again. And traveling with Li'l Bro and SiL is always fun. Stories might be forthcoming.

A couple things I've decided while traveling:

1. Sam is a Rob Orbison fan, or at least he was when he and Jess were together.

2. The Chumbawamba song "El Fusilado" reminds me of Dean in the narrator's resilience. Well, with the exception of the chew toy thing. (Btw, it's based on a true story. It's also off one of the the most depressing albums I've heard in a long time.)

I don't know if I'll get caught up on the ol' f-list, so if there's something you think I need to know for my continued good health and peaceful existence, point me in the appropriate direction in case I miss it, 'kay?

It's back. And about freakin' time, too. Withdrawal, I tell ya, is not fun.

Plus S1 creepy with S4 angst is for yay.

Not much in the way of the thinky thoughts on this one, though [livejournal.com profile] dodger_winslow has some really good ones. A lot of what she put into words I picked up on on a peripheral/subliminal level. (Mind you, I don't agree with her stance on everything in the ep, but at the core, I don't disagree . . . )

This way to the not-so-thinky thoughts )

Because I am a hopeless addict fan (will write at another time about how my fannishness is inherited *g*), I've watched "Lazarus Rising" 4.5 times in the past 3 days.

And as I was baking whippersnappers (Cheese Elf? You totally need to try these with the Pixies . . . well, one of the Pixies. There's really only enough work for one), I was contemplating cut for spoilers )

Title: The Song Remains the Same
Word Count: Part 1 - 1,752; Part 2 - 1,717, for a total of 3,469
Warnings & Author's Notes: Post-NRftW. On September 18, this will, I have no doubt, be Jossed into AU oblivion.
Disclaimer: Obviously, they're not mine. Kripke & Co. have not seen fit to gift them to me, but I'm still available for any hug therapy that might be necessary.

Summary: Sam's heart aches in his chest to hear Dean sounding so broken, begging for help he doesn't believe will come.

Many, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha, my Beta of WIN \0/, who in spite of her own RL responsibilities, will read and re-read my stuff until I'm sure she's buggy in the head. Also, [livejournal.com profile] kalquessa, the Beta of Squee, who, if I listen to her too often, will have me posting just about anything I send her way.
