I think I need to pull out our disc of The Lost Boys. For those of you who haven't seen it, and are SPN fans, you totally should. It's almost eerie how much they have in common.

I think I love Lost Boys a little bit more than Supernatural, probably because it was a 2 hour movie and the writers didn't have time to screw around with the storylines. LOL I also love the Lost Boys soundtrack.

I definitely preferred the older brother in Lost Boys, too. Hee.

Well, by its very nature, a movie has to be more focused and has less opportunity to explore other tangents than a TV show does. Can't have as many subplots going, you know? An A-line and maybe a B-line, but that's about all. No time for a convoluted mytharc. ;-)

The LB soundtrack used to be my running music in college. It would get kind of eerie when I was running the outdoor track alone at night. Hee!

I loved the dynamic between the brothers in LB. They way they pick on each other but are there for each other and try to protect each other . . . gee, this is sounding familiar, isn't it.

So.... Do the Frog Brothers = the Ghostfacers?

That thought did cross my mind, and Geo even said the same thing. As I pointed out, though, the Brothers Frog actually knew what they were doing, if being a wee bit inept at times. The Ghostfacers needed the expertise of Sam and Dean to get their act together.

However, I do think that the comparison is as valid as the others I've made, so, yes.

Well, the Frog Bros. did crumble in the face of the Enemy (much like the Ghostfacers) and needed Michael & Sam's presense to calm them down and get them focused.

Once focused, the Frog Boys were ultimately more competent than the Ghostfacers ever became.

A big difference: In the initiation scene where Michael is eating rice and Vampire David freaks him out completely by saying "You're eating maggots, Michael. How do they taste?" I can picture Dean just shrugging and continue to chow down. And when the blood gets passed around as wine it would be Sam(Winchester) barreling down the door going "Gimme gimme gimme!"

Hmm. Now on further thought Head Vampire Max had a very laid back YED type attitude, no? And he was very concerned about his "kids". Hmm...

*quirks eyebrow* This is starting to make me wonder how much of the show has consciously been influenced by LB, and how much is just LB changing the landscape of the genre.
