We spent 15 years of wedded bliss celebrating with one of the most passionate couples in pop cult history.

Veteran's Day and anniversary
Nov. 12th, 2010 08:44 amI will post in much detail about yesterday's anniversary activities. It was exhausting, but fun, and the play was FANTASTIC! I was in the same theater with Bebe Neuwirth and Nathan Lane! They were RIGHT THERE! It was great. But as I said, more details when I get home.
Also, I have no appropriately somber or commemorative thoughts for Veteran's Day, but it looks like much of my f-list has covered that base anyway.
Finally . . . so what's this about the latest wank? Having adventures in the big city tends to limit time for wank-watching. Anyone care to explain? Do I really want to know?
Time to go get breakfast, hit Macy's one more time, then hop the train back to C'Peper. Home in time for Show tonight. Yay! \o/

The City That Never Sleeps
Nov. 10th, 2010 08:39 pmI am, as I type this, sitting in our room at the Hotel Pennsylvania. We AmTraked it from C'peper to NYC today, leaving around 9:45am and arriving around 3:30pm.
After checking in, we headed out to explore the city. We're only a block from Macy's, so we cruised around there. Then we walked down to Time Square. Had pizza (NY pizza--YUM) in a little hole-in-the-wall pizzeria (it was de-lish). We found and walked past the Lunt-Fontaine Theatre, which is where the show is tomorrow, and we made reservations at Sophia's for dinner prior to the show. And we stopped in the big Hershey store. Both Macy's and Hershey's are decked out for Christmas.
Lots of walking, LOTS of people. Ya gotta stay in physical contact with your companion, or you'll lose sight of each other really quickly. Lots of walking against the signals, and for a city where "no one" drives cars, there are a freakin' lot of cars. And car horns.
It's really kind of overwhelming. Almost sensory overload. It's pretty exciting.

Just musings
Nov. 9th, 2010 08:13 pmI've been wanting and meaning to write up some thoughts that have occurred to me regarding Show over the past couple of days. The problem is, when the thoughts are clear and enumerated in my head, I'm too busy stop and write them, and when I have the time to write them, they're back to being muddled.
( But we'll give it a try anyway. )
I think that's it. I'm still adjusting to the time change, and my body is ready to go to bed now.
Geo and I are getting ready to celebrate our 15th anniversary on Thursday. We'll be spending the evening with the Family--the Addams Family, of course--at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. We are so looking forward to it.

Okay, folks. If you haven't checked it out yet, you must do so, post-haste.
The Addams Family Musical
Go to the home page. Where it says "Letterman Appearance," click "See Video".
I can tell this is going on my list of favorite musicals. I want the CD like dancing. Gonna have to see which t-shirt I want to bring back. (Oh! And the coffee mug! Oh! And the umbrella! Oh! And the show program! Oh! And a magnet!)
And I'ma totally need an Addams Family icon. The question is, which would I want: Charles Addams artwork (in which case I also need to hunt down an Edward Gorey icon), the TV show, or the musical?
Have I ever mentioned that my first "real" fanfic was an Addams Family story?
That I went as Morticia for Halloween one year?
That I had the cartoon board game when I was a kid?
Yes, that's how much I love the Addamses.
I am so excited to be seeing this show. With this cast. Between that and the upcoming season of SPN (and being in the office alone with no one to share my excitement), I think I'm going to spontaneously combust.
