I've had a very, very busy week. Maybe I'll get around to telling you about it. Been working almost non-stop for two weeks. So looking forward to the day off.

And while I've been house managing the newly opened theater, SPN boys have been doing conventions. Jus In Bello, in Rome, was last weekend. It's been a long time since I've shared the con vids that make me smile, hasn't it.

It's also been a long time since I've danced. And you know who else dances? ExpandGuess. )

So. There was an SPN convention in Dallas this past weekend. Vids are becoming available. I'm at work right now, with people in the office, so I can't go looking for clips that amuse me to share, but if I get the chance, I will. (Jensen played lacrosse in high school. He wasn't very good, but he liked running into people.)

I've had it pointed out to me that SPN's new season starts in 9 days. NINE DAYS! Which is both woo-hoo, and yikes I better get moving on reviewing my new DVDs. (BTW, Jensen on blu ray on an HD TV screen . . . it almost makes my eyes water, such a gorgeous sight.)

It's been a weird, weird past couple of months. Daddy's passing (I miss, you, Daddy). Twenty-five year high school reunion. George turning 50. Good friends who build patios. New adoption case worker, and the fear that Geo and I are too old to ever be selected. New nephew on the way.

I'm so ready for this beautiful autumn weather. And I'm so ready for seeing Jensen on my TV screen again.

And per the con vids, Jensen is as charming, funny, intelligent, and gorgeous as ever. I've missed you, guy.

Also, yesterday while Geo was being an author escort at the National Book Festival, I took my Supernatural tunes outside and washed my car. I think Dean would approve.

Specifically, go to the 8:23 mark...

I think I love Kim Rhodes. She's a Jensen fan. But then, we knew that, didn't we? From their soap opera days? (She's got an inner fangirl. Hee!)

Also, take the time to watch the panel. I just kind of stumbled upon mention of it, and found it, and these are really great people to watch.

Izhi and I finally got to chat for real last night, after 7 months of not really touching base. We reviewed what we liked about S6 and S7, and some of what we thought was wobbly. I miss ya, Izh.

Between the fan-posted con vids of the SDCC panel and the WB-posted panel, which was taken from the panel's direct feed, I've now seen the entire panel.

And I'm really kind of excited. (Though again, I went wandering through the interwebs ans was spoiled for something I didn't want to know, and now I'm creating in my mind a scenario that is both exciting me and freaking me out. Oh, to return to the days of S3/S4 hiatus, where I didn't know anything going into S4 and was completely bowled over by Castiel's appearance. Also, the fic that summer was incredible.)

I ran across this con vid a few days ago. It's from last year's (2011) Rome convention.

The beginning is great, but for the question, go to the 2:50 mark. Or for the more specific part that makes me smile, start at the 4:00 mark and watch through 7:27.

They make me laugh.

In case you haven't seen it yet, vids are starting to show up from the Supernatural convention in Burbank this weekend. (With everyone now going to Twitter, it's getting harder for me to find them. Hopefully, people will continue to put their vids on YT as well.)

And Dick Speight presented Jensen with a birthday cake.

The first vid: I had to link to it, because for some reason, it wouldn't let me embed it. It's more complete, but is shot from further away, and the audio is more difficult to decipher. If you listen really closely, you can make out most of it, though.

This vid won't let me embed.

Jensen does know how to make fun out of his embarrassment. I love him so.

ETA: One more. (Close-up of cake face. Warning: Turn the volume way down.)

DOES THIS MEAN I GET MY SPEECHLESS!DEAN EPISODE??????

From my lips/computer screen/thought waves/whatever to Ben Edlund's ears?

Heads-up Izhi.

Go to 25:25 for the question.
Go to 26:16 for Jensen's thoughts on this quote (though he might not even know he's repeating something I posted a couple weeks ago).
Go to 26:42 for Sera's comments regarding conversations in a look.

Note how they talk at the same time EVEN IN ASL at 27:10.

Don't mind me. I'll just be over here in the corner flailing in anticipation.

Also! Kalquessa! You were there in the room when they talked about this, but still! I must point it out.

Go to 33:24 for questions about the weapons cache. Specifically NINJA STARS and the GRENADE LAUNCHER! Chica, we were talking about that years ago. Also also? Jensen is adorable. He's such a guy.

I do not have an icon that properly expresses the degree of flailing experienced when presented with these two conversations.

This?

This is one of the many reasons I'd love to work with the guys. Though admittedly, I'd probably be so nervous and terrified that I wouldn't know what to do.

One of the things I think would scare me (and I'll get into this a little bit when I write about my recent play) is that I'm not sure I'd know what to do with that kind of support. So often recently it seems that I've been in the position of having to catch others, that I'm not sure how I'd react to having someone catch me or "support" me. You know? That's not to say that my recent cast wasn't supportive. They were very encouraging. But I felt, a majority of the time, that being the more experienced (and prepared) of many of them, I was the one in the catcher's role, rather than being comfortable and relaxed enough to let the story tell itself.

Anyway. This vid right here? One of the reasons I would love--and yet can't really imagine--working with those guys. Truly a joy to work with.

This just makes me laugh:

WARNING for a mysterious spoiler in the second video.

Because you all know how much I love to hear them talk about their profession. With bonus chair dancing and "I lost my shoe."

Also, mysteriously disappearing set items, and Jensen's custom wardrobe:

Con vids. Here's the first I've found:

I am highly amused that Jensen and Jared are so in sync (literally) with each other that they seem to actually read each other's minds.

Now I'm off to make aglio e olio for dinner. Yummy!

I'll write in a separate post about the movies I saw this weekend, but right now, I felt the need to share the first J&J vid of this weekend's con that I've seen:

I just watched most (all?) of the SPN ComiCon panel (minus vids shown at the panel). Whoever told me there was nothing uber-spoilery is correct. And I gotta say, I'm excited for the new season. Here are a few comments:

ExpandCut for the uber-spoilerphobes )

I've got a scene--not even a full-fledged fic, just a scene--that's been kicking around inside my head for quite a while. I know it will be Jossed come the beginning of the season, but I'm wondering if I should at least work it out and get it written down before then. Hm . . .

We should be getting our B:UtRH disc tomorrow (yes, Geo went ahead and ordered it). And I think the new SPN tie-in novel is due out next month. Oh! And Carl Hiaasen's new book comes out tomorrow, too. So there's plenty to keep me busy until Sept. 24, right? Right?
feliciakw: (SPN)
. . . the guys crack me up.

The whole vid is worth watching, but if you're pressed for time, start at 2:50. Or 3:50, if you're really pressed.

(Hey, y'all know that if you click twice on the embedded vid, it will take you to YT, and you can see who actually posted the thing, right? Just so ya know.)

SPN S6

May. 6th, 2010 12:35 pm
feliciakw: (Eye of the Tiger)
I know there's been a lot of misgivings expressed regarding S6. I'm not really one way or the other about it right now; I'm just trying to get through this season.

But the fact that Jensen is excited and looking forward to S6? Yes, that makes me excited.

feliciakw: (Eye of the Tiger)
Okay, so. Reports and photos of SPN 100th ep party are starting to hit the 'Net (and can be found here). And it appears that one Jensen Ackles was the front man/lead singer for a Blues Brothers-esque band called The Impalas.

See, here's the thing. There's a convention scheduled in Vancouver later this year. With the con taking place in Vancouver, I think it's safe to say that all members of The Impalas will be in the vicinity.

And here's the kicker: It is common Creations practice to offer a cabaret the night before the days of the Q&As. It was common practice, back in the day, for Kevin Smith (aka Ares, God of War) to front a band made up of other actors from the Hercules/Xena casts. Michael Hurst (my personal fave of the Herc actors) gave a one-man cabaret show at the first con I ever attended.

And as I understand it, musical performances by such personages as Jason Manns and Steve Carlson are also common practice at Creations cons.

My point being, it would not be beyond the realm of possibility or Creations practice for The Impalas to take the stage on a Friday (or Saturday) night. If, you know, the proper participants could be persuaded.

Just sayin'.
feliciakw: (Jensen promo)
I've been saying for months that Jensen is not "shy," he's reserved.

Apparently, I'm not alone in this assessment:

Also, avocado sushi dipped in yum yum sauce is, in fact, yum-yum. However, I do not know if Jensen agrees with me on that point.
feliciakw: (SPN)
Check SupernaturalWiki. BabyBlueSteel has posted several vids, one of which includes Jensen's tearful breakdown at Jared's being asked about fried rice and pickles. The visual quality of all of BBS's vids is quite good, though the acoustics in the room make the audio difficult to understand.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kimmer1227 for the heads-up.

Enjoy.
feliciakw: (Trouble=Dean)
Of everything I've read about from the con, I think the thing I'm missing most regarding con vids is a vid of the fried rice pickle question that had Jensen in tears. (Of course, a video, I'm sure, doesn't do the scene justice, but still. I've not laughed like that in a long time.)
