Todd Stashwick is too busy guesting on my other shows to guest on SPN as the 'shifter in Purgatory.

Tonight he played a scarily demented druglord on "Revolution" (which, tonight's ep was pretty good, in that it kept my attention with the main storyline. I still haven't decided how I feel about the weekly flashbacks revealing a different character, though. It seems very . . . "Lost." And I only saw one ep of that show).

So we have Stashwick playing a homicidal shapeshifter on SPN, a thieving, homicidal conspirator on H50, and a scary homicidal druglord on Revolution. I'm sensing a pattern. Though his character on SPN had a comedically fun aspect, which was definitely missing from these other roles. Did I mention he was pretty darn scary tonight? (It's also odd to see him in color.)

Well, huh.

This is one of the many reasons I'd love to work with the guys. Though admittedly, I'd probably be so nervous and terrified that I wouldn't know what to do.

One of the things I think would scare me (and I'll get into this a little bit when I write about my recent play) is that I'm not sure I'd know what to do with that kind of support. So often recently it seems that I've been in the position of having to catch others, that I'm not sure how I'd react to having someone catch me or "support" me. You know? That's not to say that my recent cast wasn't supportive. They were very encouraging. But I felt, a majority of the time, that being the more experienced (and prepared) of many of them, I was the one in the catcher's role, rather than being comfortable and relaxed enough to let the story tell itself.

Anyway. This vid right here? One of the reasons I would love--and yet can't really imagine--working with those guys. Truly a joy to work with.

Okay, gang. Everyone who's been telling me all the shows I should know Sarah Drew from? You know, the girl who played Nora on SPN on Thursday?

You're all wrong.

I know her from Wonderfalls.

And if you don't know what Wonderfalls is, you don't know what you're missing. Go. Now. Rent from 'Netflix. Seriously. Especially if you're a Pushing Daisies fan, because it's the same creator.

She was also on an episode of Numb3rs called "Angels and Devils." So that's where I've seen her most recently.

(Hey, Izhi? Remind me what that ep was about?)

There's a download of the whole Sunday breakfast that's very amusing.

The majority breakfast has now been uploaded to YT, but you kinda need to go looking for it. Check out the section timestamped 1:53 - 3:17.

Btw, I kinda love Jensen's smirk. Just FYI.

Clint Eastwood? )

So. I'm in the office by myself today, and I've been watching con clips while I'm writing up the minutes from last week's meeting. And I found this particular clip to hold an interesting tidbit of information. The section timestamped 0:45 - 2:00.

Cut for actor-type ponderings )

My MiL is visiting, and Geo and I went out to dinner with her and took her to our new grocery. When we get in, Geo turns on the TV to a news report that Patrick Swayze has passed away.

Dirty Dancing was THE soundtrack of my freshman year of college. Sleeper hit movie of the summer of 1987, my friends and I watched the video more times than I can remember. "Nobody puts Baby in a corner" was one of our catch phrases.

I'd previously seen him in North and South, but Dirty Dancing was what sucked me in.

I'm . . . not surprised by his passing, but . . . a lot of people who have made lasting impressions on me have been passing away, most of them of cancer.

R.I.P. Patrick.

I've been watching the Smallville DVDs I got recently. Okay, I've been skimming the discs and watching the story line in which Jensen plays a part.

Jason Teague is adorable. Well, for the first half of the season, anyway. And romantic. Unless he's whammied out on day-glo green sports drink. Then he's kinda scary.

I realize Jason kinda goes off the deep end in the second half of the season (which I'm getting into now). And it's really weird (and silly) that I, knowing that he left SV for to be on SPN, now want to watch Jensen's work in chronological order . . . which means starting over at the beginning of S1 SPN. Um, no. No time for that.

While most people might not think it that big a deal, I'm tickled that Jensen got to work with the likes of Jane Seymour. I house managed when she came to the PAC as part of the public library's speaker series, and though I did not get to meet her myself, she was pretty darn awesome. Very interesting and personable. And she had such a good time talking and answering audience questions that we 'bout had to haul her bodily off the stage. :-) Also, I remember first seeing her when she played Serena (Boxy's mom and Apollo's wife) on the original BG back when I was but a lass.

Also, John Glover, whom I don't know a whole lot about, but who I've always gotten the impression is a pretty heavy hitter and quite the coup when a show can cast him. (Or maybe I just think that because Geo and JT once thought that he would be perfect for a roll in one of their movies.)

Speaking of SPN, WIaWSNB continues to rock. For realz. I'm actually quite sorry they lost Raelle Tucker as a writer. She wrote or co-wrote some of the best eps out there. (I also think maybe she had a thing for Dean-peril, which, you know, kinda puts her and me on the same wavelength in that regard.)

The weather has been uncommonly cool this summer. Nothing like the horrible drought we had two summers ago when I first moved here.

Today marks the passing of Farrah Fawcett (formerly, and how I knew her when I was growing up, Farrah Fawcett-Majors).

When I was but a wee lass, Charlie's Angels was one of my favorite TV shows. My cousin and I had the dolls (I had Sabrina, Jill, Kelly, and Kris), and when we played pretend, I always opted to be Jill (Farrah's character), while Cousin J's favorite was Sabrina. Much later, I had one of the Barbie-sized Farrah Fawcett dolls, but iirc, I sold her on eBay a long time back (and put the money toward the piano I now own). I had the CA trading cards and the board game. I had the lunch box. I even remember reading one of the books based on an ep that the library had.

Cousins SJ1 & SJ2 had her famous poster in one of their rooms, along with other of their favorite 70s celebrities (like Leif Garrett).

I didn't follow her career after she left Charlie's Angels (except to watch Logan's Run because she was in it). It's only in retrospect as an adult that I realize she was only on in the first season. I have no idea what she was like as a person (other than what I saw on her reality show with Ryan O'Neal, and I was not impressed). But as a player on one of my favorite TV shows, she played a rather significant part in my childhood pretend.
