Well, huh.

So. I just got done watching the first two eps of Friends With Benefits on-line.
When I first heard about it, I knew the premise wasn't gonna be my cuppa, on any level, really. Supposed to be like Friends? I outgrew Friends after the first season. An entire TV series centering around casual hook-ups for all the main characters? Um . . . no.
My brain has also become a bit more critical in regards to whether or not a show is kid/family friendly. This one? Definitely is not. (In fact, I don't really know of any comedies that are family friendly anymore.)
But it was free on-line (NBC's website), and I figured, what the heck.
Why?
I'll admit it. Because Jensen's wife is in it, and the only thing I've seen her in is Ten Inch Hero, and I'd kind of like to have more examples of her acting skills.
And you know what?
She's pretty good.
I can't say whether or not I think she's "great," because the only thing I've seen her in is comedy (so I don't know what kind of range she has). But she's got a lot of things going for her in this role. She makes the role likable. (She's probably the most likable character in the show.) She's charming. She actually made me laugh out loud at one point.
Not real keen on the show as a whole. Won't be scheduling my Friday nights around it or DVRing it. It got shelved, anyway. They're just burning off the eps they did shoot. (Too bad Fox didn't do that with Still Life.)
But to just give it a look-see? Sure. It was worth the 45 minutes in front of an open window.
