J&J PSA

This? Is a pretty awesome PSA. I'll let it speak for itself . . .

Last year, while Geo and I were traveling, we got caught in a very long traffic delay. Traffic was being re-routed and when we finally saw the wreck that caused the stoppage, it was horrible. It looked like an SUV had pretty much gone under a road crew truck. Looking the accident up on the internet a day or so later, it turns out that texting by the SUV's driver was a suspected cause.

ETA: An article about the accident we encountered.

Texting while driving: So not worth it.

I have decided, after watching some convention clips, that after SPN finishes its run, Jensen and Jared need to do a variety show.

Why do I say this? )

I . . . 'm not sure what I'd do with a food truck festival, 'cause you'd have to sample everything, right?

But apparently Vancouver does indeed have a food truck festival, and apparently the Padalecki family attended said festival on a bright and sunny day. Perhaps this is unsurprising for Jared. :-)

Pics of the totes adorbs wee Thomas and his parents.

Also? This apparently is worthy of the UK entertainment news:

A family outing.

Thomas is quite stylin' in his shades. But the Scotch-Irish/German in me that burns to a cripsy critter most easily is fretting, "I hope Baby has sunscreen on!" and yelling "Get that child under some shade!"

But that's just me. I'm sure Mama G and Papa J are both quite aware.

Also, there are photos floating about of Jensen and Danneel together recently (lunch, maybe?). Jensen is wearing flip-flops. So those of you who have a thing for sexy feet, there ya go. Danneel is looking a bit sun-crispied herself.

Li'l T. (Who will maybe not be so little when all is said and done.) He's got his dad's exquisite eyes.

Thomas Colton Padalecki.

From the People Magazine website:

Jared Padalecki Welcomes Son Thomas Colton

Jared Padalecki‘s new role: Superdad!

The Supernatural star and his wife Genevieve Cortese welcomed a son, Thomas Colton Padalecki, on Monday, March 19, his rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

Baby boy weighed in at 8 lbs., 6 oz.

After announcing that they were expecting, Padalecki, 29, and Cortese, 31, requested fans contribute to St. Jude’s Research Hospital in lieu of gifts.

Thus far, fans have raised over $40,000 for the hospital, and the couple plans to match the final total.

Padalecki wed former Supernatural costar Cortese in February 2010 in Sun Valley, Idaho.

I like the name. Thomas is a name I've been half considering recently, since recently reading about the apostle Thomas's loyalty. (Yes, he's most remembered for doubting, but he was also loyal. Then Thomas (also known as Didymus) said to the rest of the disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with him.” ~John 11:16)

It's a lovely name they've chosen. (Or perhaps Baby Thomas introduced himself. Hee.)

Jared has announced per twitter - It's a boy. The Padababy, the Baby Moose, MiniMoose, Baby Boy Padalecki is here. Per Clif Kosterman (bodyguard) Baby arrived in Seattle. Further details to come from the happy, excited (and excitable) daddy.

And for those of you who actually understand how Twitter works, #PapaPadalecki and #UNCLEJENSEN are trending. I think #WelcomePadababy is, too.

Congratulations to the happy parents, and welcome to the little squeaker!

Personally, I'm looking forward to piccies of the happy fam.

Well, we've got a little bit of snow from yesterday and today. It's pretty, but it doesn't look like it will last. Still, my b-day is coming, so it doesn't come as a surprise. Even if we get snow no other time of the year, there's a 99% chance that there will be snow for my birthday.

And to celebrate the snow, have a couple of links to pictures of winter fun. (Be warned, minor spoilery things. Nothing huge or plotty, but uber!spoiler!phobes, take note. Do not read the text. Still, the pictures are worth the risk, I think.)

Supernatural is up for a couple of People's Choice Awards. The Js would like you to vote:

As soon as they said they weren't going to do anything "gimmicky," I was expecting something.

I was not expecting that.

(However, it's in keeping with the theme of Jason Mann's recent video. I . . . have no comment.)

And now, I wax analytical )

We all know Jensen is a fantastic actor. We all know he can play opposite just about anyone, even himself. We all know he can dig deep and bring out emotions so subtly that it makes us weep. Or laugh. Or whatever. He can deliver three pages of dialogue by moving nothing but his left ear.

Are you paying attention, Emmy? )

The internet is all abuzz with the news. From @jarpad's twitter:

OK yall I'd rather you officially hear it from me.. So, yes. Genevieve is pregnant. We'll be welcoming a new member to our family in 2012 :)

The news first broke on a gossip site, and everyone has been very coy about it. But word has finally come down from the PadaDaddy himself. There is a Mini!Moose (or possibly a Minnie!Moose) on the way!

Awwwww!!!!

ETA: Because I have no idea how to link to a single Twitter post, here it is as posted by Tahirire.

Also, mooseling.

This?

This is one of the many reasons I'd love to work with the guys. Though admittedly, I'd probably be so nervous and terrified that I wouldn't know what to do.

One of the things I think would scare me (and I'll get into this a little bit when I write about my recent play) is that I'm not sure I'd know what to do with that kind of support. So often recently it seems that I've been in the position of having to catch others, that I'm not sure how I'd react to having someone catch me or "support" me. You know? That's not to say that my recent cast wasn't supportive. They were very encouraging. But I felt, a majority of the time, that being the more experienced (and prepared) of many of them, I was the one in the catcher's role, rather than being comfortable and relaxed enough to let the story tell itself.

Anyway. This vid right here? One of the reasons I would love--and yet can't really imagine--working with those guys. Truly a joy to work with.

A bit of trivia )

For those who haven't heard, Jared Padalecki now has a twitter account.

http://twitter.com/#!/jarpad

It sounds like the way I ended up with a twitter--peer pressure in a moment of weakness. It would seem that Jensen is the last holdout.

Stay strong, Jensen! Don't give in! (Though he has mentioned considering getting one that's officially his . . . and then never using it.)

Regarding the Nashville con )

Do I really need to remind you how much I love these guys? Or would that be redundant?
feliciakw: (SPN)
This is the photo shoot that Jensen mentioned on the red carpet at PaleyFest. They're all lookin' mighty fine, no? (They're sort of scattered throughout the vid, so I'm not gonna pinpoint time stamps. The video is pretty entertaining, though.)

Sometimes I think God talks to me via the radio, even if it's just to make me smile.

I have three radio stations programmed into my car radio (we don't pick up a whole lot where I am) that I rotate between. It's somewhat uncanny the frequency with which I turn the radio on to a song that's been on SPN. Even on the automated mix station.

Today, flipping back and forth between commercials, I hit upon "The Weight." I'd never even heard of the song before Jensen's impromptu rendition last year. Now I've heard it on the radio twice in what seems like a very short time. Came in in the middle of it . . . right as it was going into the verse that Jensen says is his favorite.

It made me smile.

So did this:

These guys crack me up without even trying. Seriously, they should take their routine on the road.

Also? Olive oil is proof that God loves us and wants us to be healthy. (I made aglio e olio for dinner last night. Good grief but is it delicious. And stupid easy to throw together. With olive oil and garlic, both of which are very good for your health.)

I've found a new picture of that band I posted about a while back.

Here's the latest )
