So. Random thinky thoughts.

1. Adam is in Heaven until I hear otherwise. Before the final smackdown last season, Dean said to Adam/Michael, "Adam, if you're in there, I'm so sorry" (or something like that). To which Michael replied, "Adam isn't home right now." I'm going to take that as meaning that Michael kept his word (as Castiel says angels do in "The Rapture") that Michael sent Adam back to Heaven to be with his mom. I think this might possibly be the reason why Castiel said Sam's soul is still in the Cage with Lucifer and Michael. He didn't mention Adam, because Adam isn't there.

That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.

2. The opening title smash. I was thinking about that this morning, and how there are those who believe that it's not just glass shattering, but specifically, a mirror shattering. And then I started thinking about the lore that involves the connection between mirrors and the soul. Such as the belief that a soul can be trapped inside a mirror (Show has actually gone there already with "Bloody Mary.") How looking into a mirror, one is actually looking at one's soul. How mirrors are windows into the spirit world. How mirrors reflect only truth. Etcetera, etcetera, and so on. And that got me to wondering if mirrors are going to play a role in getting Sam's soul back.

Also, read Mirror Mask, by [livejournal.com profile] tahirire. Because it's pretty darn awesome.

3. Oddly enough, while driving home from the train depot through the dark empty streets of C'peper, it occurred to me that I actually felt more comfortable, and maybe safer, walking the busy, bustling, bright streets of NYC with Geo. I like where we live--where our house is situated, the views, the quiet, etc. But I really rather wish we had easier access to the big city. Ya know?

4. Watched Perfume: Story of a Murderer last night. Fascinating movie up until the climax. Then it just got weird.

5. Geo pulled out our DVD of The Addams Family TV show yesterday. Heh.

4. Lisa has started talking to me a little bit. I've often wondered how she would react to Sam calling her from Dean's cell or showing up at her door sans Dean. (Izhi? That fic you mentioned? I've been wanting to read it for a while. Even before you thought of it. *nods*) Maybe something will come of it. Maybe not. Dunno.

5. Yesterday, our new pastor mentioned The Addams Family, specifically Cousin Itt, in the sermon. I did a double fist pump and might have drawn a little attention to myself.

I think that's it for now.

Wandered over here from your link at tahirire's.

1. I ... haven't even thought about Adam. *hangs head* But I hope you're right. And it makes sense.

2. I don't know what they're doing this season and I'm no longer speculating, just kvetching. With, you know, love. Pained love. Tainted love. (I shall stop now.) But, yeah, mirrors are definitely there.

4. I love Perfume, but so few people have seen it. I haven't watched it in ages, but oddly enough I did post (http://themonkeytwin.livejournal.com/28192.html) two sketches I did from it with some other old sketches just the other week (just scroll down a bit).

I get you with the climax, although it certainly makes the point, er, graphically, that even at the moment of total togetherness, he is still utterly alone and cut off from people. Even by the epitome of his art, he can't achieve connection. So ... it made sense. Er. O.o Have you seen the director's other movies?

5. The other evening, I was at my pastor's place for a meeting, and he brought out his replica Andúril. Geek pastors ftw.

1. That's okay. Apparently the writers haven't thought about Adam, either.

4. I went into Perfume not knowing anything about where it came from. Up until the end, it was always in the back of my mind that maybe it was based on a true story, which made it even more fascinating. Then it got very surreal, and that kind of threw me out of the story, since I had been working on the premise that this might really have happened.

But I do see what you mean about it from a metaphorical POV. And it was a very interesting movie. Would have made a good CSI episode. *nods*
