Yesterday was a rather quiet day.

We got freezing rain and snow, which is relatively traditional for my birthday, even if we don't get it any other day of the year. My boss called in the morning, asking if I was considering coming in to work. I told her, yes, that I was just running over in my mind how much extra time I'd need to scrape my car and warm it up and drive carefully in to work. She told me to stay home, to not even consider going in to work. Okay, then.

My Facebook was busy with b-day wishes from family and friends over there, which brightened my morning.

I got some wonderful fun pressies from [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha and [livejournal.com profile] kalquessa and [livejournal.com profile] sarcasticval, namely laughter, which I really needed at the point in time when said pressies were posted. Because spending one of your "milestone" birthdays by yourself can sort of get you to wondering if you've made any sort of difference in the world. So thank you, ladies, for that.

Geo sent me a lovely bouquet of flowers.

We were going to go out to one of the nice restaurants for dinner, but he was wiped out from a class he took, and we figured the restaurants would probably be closed due to the weather anyway. (Honestly, it's like these folks don't know what to do with winter weather.)

So we had pizza and key lime cake and tried to watch a movie, but my eyes just wouldn't stay open. I was in bed by 9:30.

I also got some other very nice b-day wishes throughout the evening from other f-listies like [livejournal.com profile] kerravonsen, [livejournal.com profile] yasminke, [livejournal.com profile] just_ruth, and [livejournal.com profile] july_july_july. And a phone call from Cheese Elf. Cheesy, I'm so fondue you. :-)

In more disappointing news, it looks like iTunes won't be getting SPN eps any time soon. From what little I can get out of the customer service people, it's because the network hasn't released the ep to iTunes yet. I also noticed that iTunes has raised the price of eps from $1.99 to $2.99. I'm wondering if they did that without the network's okay, and there's some sort of issue there that has to be ironed out before the CW will release the ep. Because when I checked on Amazon (which I can't download from, though I could watch it streaming if I wanted to), it's available there, for $1.99.

*sigh* I really do feel like I'm missing half the ep when I can't watch in widescreen.

Why the obsession with widescreen, some of you might well be asking.

Perhaps this will explain it )
