Further ramblings after "I'm No Angel"

So . . . reapers are . . . related to angels? Former angels? Specialty angels that God gave to Death to escort souls? Reaper!April apparently needed April's permission for use of her body. (Which, who knew a reaper could possess someone to begin with?) They glow blue when they die (I'll have to go back and watch when Crowley killed Aja (?) last season) rather than white.
Back when reapers were first introduced (S1), I figured that they were simply doing as God instructed, escorting souls from this plane of existence to the next. In my mind, they were a type of "angel of death." But Show didn't really take that direction with them, so whatever. I guess it's neither here nor there, but it's kind of weird now that they're re-writing the parameters for the reapers.
Also, I'm wondering what's up with Zeke. I want to trust him, but now I'm wondering if he hasn't sort of appointed himself Dean's guardian angel. What better way to protect Dean than to be hanging out in Dean's brother. He doesn't want the angels who are after Cas to launch an incursion on the bunker. If he's scared of the bad guys, I still tend toward his stance as a good guy. I'm just wondering about his motives.
We shall see . . .

I'm just hoping that Zeke is not a straight-up bad guy. I will be very disappointed if that's the case.
