So, I've re-watched the ep. I've modified my take on a couple of things.
Things that jump out at me:
Odd comment from Sam: "I might be going to Hell for saying this . . . " Um, Sam? You've been in Hell, remember? (Or maybe you don't?) You've been in the Cage. You know how bad it is. Aren't you using that phrase a little flippantly?
Martin: "A brother chooses a vampire over a brother, I know how I'd feel."
Probably the same way Dean felt when Sam chose Ruby over him. Throttled him, stopped just short of choking him out, if not outright killing him. Left Dean gasping for air on a hotel room floor as Sam walked out the door to follow a demon. You know?
That seems like kind of an odd place for a Sam flashback, though.
It occurs to me that it's rather odd that Sam left Dean on the floor cuffed to the radiator. I'd expect more from him, like transferring Dean to the bed and cuffing him to the bed frame. Unless Martin was so paranoid that he thought the radiator was more permanent than the bed frame.
Did anyone else notice the motif of reflections and looking through things (like foliage, windows, water, glass bottles, pie displays, etc.)? Thematically purposeful clues to where the story is? Or just really nifty directorial choices?
Martin? You are freaking me out. You're freaking me out, acting like you've been turned. Have you been turned? Walking around in the dark where a vamp was recently trying to build a nest.
So, not turned? Possessed? No? Just completely round the bend. Off your rocker. Several sandwiches short of a picnic. Acting downright Gordon-like. You're freaking me out Broots Martin.
Upon re-watch, I've changed my mind about Benny killing Martin. Elizabeth had a lot of blood on her, and as Geo points out, she would have access to a great many pointy objects. Martin clearly had his throat ripped out, chewed but good. But I'm not discounting the possibility of another vamp being in the area (Desmond-?-was after all building a nest, right?). I'm also wondering about Liz, who had blood drops on her lips. They appeared to be from spray, but . . .
Sam's not the only one who needs to hear what Dean has to say about what happened. And Dean only knows as much as Elizabeth told him. So Sam? Just shut up and let Dean tell you what happened. 'Cause I want to know.
When Amelia shows up at the bar, Sam seems as afraid as he does startled. I'm wondering if seeing her in person is going to shatter some sort of carefully created delusion.

Broots! Man, that's why Martin looked so familiar.
