Yesterday was my b-day.

The parents (all three of them: mom, dad, mom-in-law) came for the weekend. It was very nice. They arrived Friday, we went to various flea markets and outdoor/lawn stores Saturday, and after church on Sunday we went out for Indian food for lunch. We were joined for lunch and for cake back at the house by the Gaming Friends/Co-workers that we had Christmas Eve and Day with.

I got some very cool loot. First, [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha gave me a paid LJ account, which means I now have lots of closet space for pretty new clothes . . . er, icons. Now I can go "shopping" for SPN, N3, and just generally all-around cool icons. I've not had the opportunity to do so yet, though. It also means I can actually use some of the LJ "themes" that I really like that are only available with paid accounts. (See nifty new Aurora LJ theme.)

Geo gave me a NZ greenstone pendant, a double/triple twist that I've had my eye on for a while. I love NZ greenstone. The green is so rich, and the stone warms after being worn close to the body/against the skin for a few minutes.

I also got iPod accoutremants and various soap-y type things from the parents, and the MiL gave me a hilarous "Toro of Love" from Hallmark. Hee!

Little Bro (who is actually better described as Younger Bro because he is about a half foot taller than me), who just got back from China last week, sent a very nice set of chop sticks from Hong Kong. The set includes little chop stick coasters even, and little pouches to keep the sticks in.

One of the things I take very seriously *g* each year is the blowing out of the candles. Years ago I observed Cousin J who--whether knowingly or not--demonstrated a very scientific approach to the blowing out of said candles. It's extremely effective, and ever since I have adopted this method, I think there's only been one or two candles left glowing in the intervening years. Yesterday they all went out as strategically and tactically planned. Should anyone wish to know the secret of the successful blowing out of candles (which is of utmost importance in the fulfillment of wishes), let me know. :-) But you must promise to use your newfound powers only for the forces of good.

I'm starting to think I need to change LJ themes. I want that very useful tag cloud, and Punquin Elegant doesn't have that.

I like my tag cloud very much.

And I like to change my theme seasonally. Up until now, the ones I've really liked have all needed paid accounts. Now I can have those, too. Mwahahahahah!!!!

Three days until . . . squee, squee, flail, fail . . .

Eee! Happy birthday! (Belated, but I wasn't online yesterday, so...it still counts! Sorta.)

I am envious of your greenstone. Such a neat stone. *envies*

And yay, icons!

Thank you, thank you!

Oh, I love my greenstone. 'Tis beautiful.

Yay, icons! Indeed. Now I need to go pillage, pilfer, and plunder for N3, SPN, and Dr. Who icons, as well as profound and silly icons.

Or *gasp* make some of my own. Ha!
