Drat you and your enabling ways!

(Okay, not really. But it's not like I needed *another* "late on the up-take" TV show.)

My brain is being co-opted, shang-hied, and otherwise eaten by the Brothers Winchester, originally of Lawrence, KS. It's all [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha's fault, with her oh-so-capable accomplices Dean, and my own husband of all people!!!!

It's Jensen Ackles' fault, really. Well, Izhi's fault for introducing me, Geo's fault for providing the discs behind my back, and Mr. Ackle's fault for being such a freakin' talented actor. (I miss my theater peeps. Wah!!!!)

My problem is this: I only do one obsession at a time, and I'm not ready to leave LA and the Eppeses. But . . . ya know . . . Dean . . . the smile . . . the voice . . . the charm . . . the angst . . . Okay, so, I've never really gone for the "bad boy" type, not really, but dang!!! He reminds me of people I actually know, kinda. Especially some of his facial expressions.

What does it say that Izhi came to visit at the end of October, and by mid-November Geo and I have gone through S1 & S2 straight through, do not pass "Go," do not collect $200? That's just not right.

But dang!

I'm planning to become obsessed with SPN sometime in the future, but can't at the moment, since it's just the wrong side of child appropriate, so I can't watch at home. Maybe after I move out. And finish being obsessed with Doctor Who and N3.

Or, you know, just when I finish with my season 1 DVDs and toss them your way. And you can take them elsewhere to watch. *evil cackle*

Oh, it is totally not appropriate for the kiddies. There's something in there to twitch every concerned parent. If you're okay with the horror, it might be the language. If you're okay with the language, it might be the demonic element. I would never have been allowed to watch something like this as a kid. I have a cousin whom it probably would not have fazed, because as a kid she totally loved this stuff. Horror is her thing. She's especially into lycanthropy lore (werewolves), and she saw all the old werewolf movies (American Werewolf in London, The Howling, etc.) when they came out. She was, like, 10 or 11 at the time. She makes tough-talking teenage boys look like wussy-girls. But she's the exception to any rule I've ever encountered personally.

As far as being obsessed with N3 and Dr. Who, do please join in the obsession. Maybe if I have someone new with whom to relive N3, I can get the Winchesters off my freakin' back and get my head on straight again.

Dean, you gorgeous hunk of fraternal, macho angst, leave me alone!

*falls over laughing*

THIS NEEDS TO BE AN ICON. A pretty picture of Dean (angsty Dean?), text: "Gorgeous Hunk of Fraternal Macho Angst. Dean Winchester."

Wha???? Do I not speak truth?

Well, I've got one space left in my user pics, so if you have someone create such an icon, I can slip it in there. And maybe I'll treat myself to a paid account for Christmas.
