What the frell? Been down since Monday, sporadic at best. Izhi and Val tell me it's a hacker attack. What possible agenda could their be for knocking out LJ? To incapacitate the fandoms of the world? Is someone out there really that concerned that fandom will take over the planet? Seriously?
I've got things I want to talk about. Thoughts I need to process. People I need to touch base with that I can only do on LJ.
Oy!
Btw, adoption training session this weekend. I'm expecting it to be informative and exciting. And maybe a little nerve-racking.

Date: 2011-07-28 08:48 pm (UTC)This was posted by the LJ higher-ups back in April, at the time of the original DDOS attacks:
"As most of you know, LiveJournal has been the victim of repeated, large-scale DDoS attacks over the last two weeks," the company said in a statement posted to its Web site. "These attacks are against multiple journals worldwide, several of which are political in nature. LiveJournal believes strongly in the ideal of freedom of expression, and we're working very hard to ensure that users around the world have a place where their voices can be heard.
"Based on our analysis of the traffic, most of the attacks are coming from entire networks in the same subnets, suggesting participation by multiple network operators," LiveJournal added. "We have made significant changes to our systems and processes to battle attacks of this nature and are continuing to adjust to each new attack as quickly as we can. We share your frustration in not being able to access LiveJournal during these attacks -- please know that we're doing everything within our power to get this behind us."

Thanks for the info. I must not have been affected much in the last one. I don't remember it being this frustrating or lasting this long.
