Dr. Who: "Human Nature"

feliciakwSee my icon? *points to screamingly frustrated Dr. Joel* This would have been my reaction had I not had a sinus headache at the end of Dr. Who last night. Not necessarily because it was the first of a 2-parter. That would have left me screaming, yes. BUT . . .
SciFi Chanel, in its infinite stupidity, has decided to air marathons, as per usual for a federal holiday weekend, next weekend (Labor Day). Hence the brilliant and handsome Doctor has been preempted by an SG-1 viewer's choice marathon. Now, I've got nuthin' against SG-1. But that's just stupid. Especially when they're going to air . . . excuse me? . . . Painkiller Jane in its usual spot. What "brilliant" mind in the scheduling department came up with *that* idea? I'd like to beat them soundly about the head and shoulders with a scallion.
The upshot being that I've got to wait two freakin' weeks for the second half of Dr. Who.
That's just all kinds of wrong.

kerravonsen's LJ to see her comments on the show. I see that I could seek out the book on which this ep is based, but I was afraid to read your entry, kerravonsen, because of the spoiler warnings.
I'll have to figure out a way to distract myself for the next two weeks.
Btw, loved the ep. Am tempted to compose the 2nd half in my head in the meantime.

Date: 2007-08-26 07:39 pm (UTC)Ooh!!! Evil creepy scarecrows! Excellent, and quite appropriate as we enter the harvest season here in the States.
This ep just had all sorts of coolness to it. I loved the message The Doctor left for Martha, how he trusted her to keep both him and herself safe. I loved the "Don't let me abandon you," recognizing that he was not going to be in his "right mind" so to speak, and he was depending on her to keep things under control and make them right in the end.
And she had to trust him enough to trust his judgement that she was up to the task. Which she was.
I loved Mr. Smith's "almost remembering" with the dreams and the diary, and yes, even the sonic screwdriver. And his relationship with Timothy.
Right now--and keep in mind that I've not seen the 2nd half or read the book--I'm waivering between whether part of The Doctor is actually inside Timothy (since he opened the watch), or if Timothy's extra "sensitivity" simply allows him to hear and understand The Doctor that's in the watch.
