More Jensen love

As some of you know, I love doing theater. My first love is acting, but directing, ADing, SMing, and costuming work, too. As some of you also know, I worked costume and wardrobe on My Mummy, the independent movie Geo co-wrote/starred in/co-directed. The woman I worked with was amazing--I love her to pieces--and she at one point told me I'd missed my calling. I should have been a costumer. "But I prefer acting," said I. "I know," said she, "but you should have been a costumer."
Well, now not only does the fan!girl in me and the actress in me have reason to love Jensen, but the costumer in me does, too.
It's been said at previous cons--and it's in the commentary on The Inch Hero--that Jensen is the one who picked out Priestly's kilt. That, my friends, was a bold and daring move, both character appropriate and hilarious.
Now I come to learn that it was Jensen who picked out the gym shorts he wore as Coach Roth in "After School Special." Yes, my friends, he did that to himself. I cannot properly express how amused I am by that.
Which takes me back to an early con comment he made stating that he wanted some ghost hunter-type accouterments for Dean, which resulted in his amulet and his bracelet.
I love that Jensen as an actor understands his characters enough to see where the humor can be had, and how costuming choices make the character. "Clothes make the man," as the saying goes. And I love that Jensen is smart enough to play with that.
This concludes today's session of thespic enthusiasm.
