So, the SPN con in the UK is in full swing, and apparently the hot topic of conversation is . . . .

Jensen's hair.

He's let it grow out to Still Life lengths, and the debate on Twitter is does it look good or not.

One Twit(terer) said she couldn't believe he let it grow out. I realize that this is a common way to express surprise, but I still find it the comment highly amusing. He had a beard in Australia. He's let his hair grow out for the UK. He's *gasp* being Jensen.

It will take all of maybe half an hour to get his Dean cut back when they start shooting S5.

Here's hoping con goers get some good pics of all the guests. (Video would be nice, too, but I'm not holding my breath. I have a feeling the days of completely pieced together con sessions are a thing of the past. For now.)

Looks like tornado weather out my window, and I've got a schmoozefest to go to this evening. (I won't be overly schmoozing, though. The tickets were offered to us by someone who ended up not being able to go.)

Watched "Bugs" yesterday and "Home" today. Debating whether or not to corral my thoughts on them.

ETA: It's raining quite heavily, and the air smells of ozone.

I've also decided that, after reading all the posts from the various cons about how unorganized things are, say what you will about Creations, they at least seem to have their act together. True, they charge prices that constitute highway robbery, but you know what you're getting. And I had a great time at the one (smaller) Creations convention I went to.

ETA2: The Sequel . . . Pics are starting to go up at SPNWiki. Jensen looks younger with the longer hair! Or maybe it's just that I can't help but relate the longer cut to when he played Max Morgan on Still Life. The stubble is very not Max. This will sound weird, but I'm glad he has the chance to do something different with it over hiatus if he wants to. Two of my previous actor crushes (Michael Hurst and Garett Maggart) both had to keep their hair long for their roles. Story is that as soon as their shows wrapped their series finales, the first order of business was to get a hair cut. (In Michael's case, you never know if it's just going to be a cut, or a color, or a shaved head.)

I assume you've found all the con vids over at the SPNWiki. All the stuff (except Jensen's move) is there: the Lasik surgery, the Icarus story (including Jensen naming Danneel as his girlfriend), Jared stating point blank that neither he nor Jensen have Twitter or Facebook or Myspace. Some really good stuff, and the audio is quite good on some of it.

By the way, I do plan to catch up on all your S1 reflections. I still haven't thought of a decent hiatus project. You're doing the eps. Maybe I'll pick wardrobe progress or some similar nonsense.

Go to the Wiki page, and clink on the link that they list where you can see all the tweets. You'll have to do a little digging through the posts (the number of posts is overwhelming), but they're in there.

Con questions will never change. I don't mind the "getting to know you" type questions, or silly but interesting questions, because you never know what sort of anecdote it might inspire. What I do mind are repetitive questions, "can you do Eye of the Tiger/the cat scream/blue steel," and interrupting the speaker when he's trying to answer a question thoughtfully. Because when you interrupt? You've stepped on another fan's opportunity to have a question answered. Not to mention it's rude to the speaker. My guess is the interrupter wouldn't appreciate it if it were done to her. Show some courtesy, people!

The PRETTEH! I'm not a huge fan of the center part (slicked back that way), but I love the longer hair as a bit of a change. (Didn't he mention in an interview that he grows the scruff during hiatus to remind himself that he's not Dean?)

I'd go in there with a stopwatch to see how long it takes for someone to ask about fanfic.

Are you guys as glum as I am over the serious lack of Gen in the newsletter lately? And the summergen results aren't due for 2 months. :(

Yes, Jensen did say that. I think it was more like separate himself from Dean. Plus he said his girlfriend liked it.

I'm so behind on my reading that I'm not missing any new additions. I'm gonna catch up on The Lee tonight, plus must skim thru all the con crap to find some goodies.
