Bloody Mary

Ah, here we go. Sam's people skills asserting them selves more and more. Sam willing to grease a palm (with Dean's winnings, which Sam must have taken for safe keeping . . . ) to see a body. Dean with the research, tedious though he finds it, and the reading a room as soon as he walks in.
Also? We start in with the active character development for Sam. We start to get a picture that there's something more going on than meets the eye.
Also also? Dean is the tech geek. He knows the tools of his trade.
Dean trying to get Sam to talk about his nightmares.
Also x3? We start to get the sense that if a hunt puts Sam in what Dean deems as unnecessary danger, he'll (try to) put his foot down. We got a little bit of that in "Phantom Traveler," with Dean's "You're not doing it alone" and Sam's "We can do it together or I can do it by myself. I'm not seeing a third option." And here we get it with Sam admitting there's more to the Jess situation than Dean knows, and that if they don't let Bloody Mary come after Sam, Charlie will die.
And here we have it, folks. The first time Sam keeps a deep, dark, significant secret from Dean, much to Dean's chagrin and worry. Because how can he help Sam, how can he protect Sam, if Sam won't talk to him?
Plus? Truly creepy episode. Still one of my favorites in that regard. Ah, they don't write 'em like that anymore.
