So Thankful
Aug. 23rd, 2011 04:08 pmListening to the news, it sounds like damage in the immediate area was "minimal." Damage to buildings, but thus far, I haven't heard reports of major injuries.
More specifically, here at home, I'm VERY thankful that it appears we were spared. I can't see any cracks in the chimney. Geo and I will look at the foundation when he gets home. The crack in our living room ceiling doesn't seem to be any worse than it was.
Thank You, God.

Thank you f-listies!
Jan. 28th, 2011 11:01 amThank you, all my wonderful f-listies, for the birthday greetings, v-gifts, and fics-to-come. They made my day brighter.
My birthday passed in a whirlwind of uneventfulness. Work, meetings, etc. I received in the mail some beautiful earrings from my MiL, and a card from Cousin J. Also, calls from parents and Li'l Bro, which I returned after my evening meeting.
After said meeting, Geo took me out for a late dinner at one of our several Chinese restaurants. It's been forever since I've had beef broccoli. And mango moshi ice cream for dessert.
I also hope my fortune in the fortune cookie is accurate.
Tonight was supposed to be the mid-season premiere of SPN, but alas, in their disorganization and bait-and-switch, CW has decided to postpone it for a week. Don't get me started.
Saturday is my actual party, with guests and everything.
Today is the groundbreaking for the renovations of the theater. FINALLY!

Happy Thanksgiving
Nov. 27th, 2008 07:08 amHappy Thanksgiving to my American friends! (And to my non-American friends, may you have a blessed and thanks-filled day just the same.)
As I made mention earlier, I'm home with family right now, and it's so very nice. Today will be spent with Geo's fam. Then on Saturday, Little Bro and SiL are hosting a day of leftovers and my side of the extended family.
I'd also like to thank the generous f-listie who gifted me this morning with one of my Christmas wish list items (and by default, a second item as well). Thank you! *hugs*
( Visiting the Performing Arts Center )
( Spreading the SPN love )
So a Happy Thanksgiving to all. May you have all the pumpkin pie you want, but not more than you need.
God bless!

Christmas 2006
Dec. 26th, 2006 05:42 pmOnce again, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Christmas was rather quiet this year. To be honest, we hadn't expected to still be here this year. I hostessed Christmas last year, thinking it would have been our last before the move. But this is the government we're talking about, so we're still here in this house.
