For maximum numliciousness, molasses cookies should be dunked in milk.

Nomnomnom . . .

Also, Geo's work is showing White Christmas tonight I should probably go get ready.

Tomorrow Geo and I are doing what I call a "literary montage" as the communion meditation. I recently figured something out about myself and my writing. But I'll get back to that later.

If anyone is still out there. You're still out there, right? Or are you all busy with Christmas preparations? 'Tis the season and all.

Cheers.

Here's my latest completed crochet project. I think of it as the Olympic affy. Also possibly called the Vancouver affy. I stitched most of it while watching the Winter Olympics last month. ("Affy" is what my bro and I called our baby afghans when we were little. And yes, I still have mine. It's been stretched many times larger than it's original dimensions over the years, and I use it like a pashmina-type wrap in the mornings.)

In actuality, it's a half-shell blanket because the clusters look like half shells. I'm not often impressed with myself, but I'm extremely pleased that the edging worked out as well as it did.

It measures 34" x 27", which is a bit smaller than the pattern indicates, but I think I know why that happened. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the correct gauge on various patterns.

Also, new shoes )

Last month, I made reference to a recipe for cookies that my mom makes, called snowflake cookies. [livejournal.com profile] just_ruth requested the recipe, and here I am, finally getting around to it, after making a batch. Considering the weather, I thought it appropriate. :-)

This is an old recipe from my Great-Aunt Ono. It is my bro's favorite.
