Hey, flist. I know I'm "running with a different crowd" than I did during my TS days (um, that would be The Sentinel), but you never know unless you ask, right? Or maybe you know people who know people who'd be interested.

I've got three DVDs that admirers of Richard Burgi might be interested in.

Cellular - Starring Kim Bassinger and Chris Evans. RB plays Bassinger's husband. A really good movie, actually. I was impressed. A young man receives a call on his cell phone from a woman who claims to have been kidnapped. It's a chase/race against time movie that actually had me thinking about movie structure, breaks, plot points, etc. Good matinee stuff. (Disc has been viewed once.)

Decoys - Starring Corey Sevier and Steffani von Pfetten. RB plays Det. Kirk. Independent movie, Canadian. Cheesy sci-fi about female aliens coming to earth to reproduce with human men. This disc is the Canadian release, which had more extras, out-takes, and goodies than the American release of the film. I had just completed my own indie movie experience when I watched this, so I was looking at it from a different POV than the average viewer, I think. Richard's stuff is good. (Disc has been viewed . . . maybe four? . . . times.)

Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation - Starring Richard Burgi (Capt. V.J. Dax) and Colleen Porch. Earth is still fighting the big ugly bugs (many of which took up residence in my basement last year), and a small band of soldiers find themselves stranded on a remote outpost surrounded by the enemy. This was shot very dark and very inexpensively (compared to the first one). Dax is probably the most interesting character in the movie, with the most potential for layers. (Disc has been viewed maybe four? times.)

I thought I'd bring this to my flist before going to eBay or craigslist in the hopes of finding someone directly. If you or anyone you know is interested please drop me a PM.
