Friday the 13th, Pt. 2 . . . or whatever

feliciakwOkay, so I guess I'll hit the easy review first.
Because Jared said in an interview that his new version of Friday the 13th was more in keeping with the 2nd movie than the first, I asked Geo if we had a copy of that one after we watched our copy of the first one. We did not have a copy of it until Geo found it on the $5 rack at a local Mart of some sort, when he purchased it . . . for me? For himself? Because he's as interested in seeing Jared's movie as I am? Regardless, I'm amused.
I actually found the first one mildly intriguing in the reveal (which I knew ahead of time. Thank you, Jared), but this one was . . . unremarkable. Yeah, it had the requisite blood and scares, and it did have an edit (from Jason menacing a little dog to hot dogs on a grill) that I had to comment on. But overall, nothing spectacular. The iconic hockey mask wasn't even in this one; he wore a pillow case with holes cut in it or something.
I also discovered that this movie lends itself very well to kibitzing. "Oh, chicky, you're not wearing a bra and your crop top is entirely too short. You're so the next victim. FYI, skinny dipping by yourself at night is not going to improve your longevity. Wait. Is that Jaws music? Bwah!"
So, right. Viewing this one was strictly homework to prepare for Jared's flick. Because it really didn't do a thing for me.
