Regardless of your personal thoughts on Sarah Palin or hunting, I thought this was amusing.

Bowhunter Barbie?

This doubly cracks me up because my hometown is only about 20 minutes from Xenia.

(Please note: This is not an invitation to talk politics. As do some of my LJ friends, I find that much political talk--especially this close to an election--isn't so much an exchange of ideas as a means to Prove I'm Correct. My personal thoughts on the matter are personal, and if you get to know me well enough, they should become reasonably obvious, anyway.)

Dude, seriously, that is hilarious.

My eldest's TaeKwanDo teacher was from Xenia. His was one of the few houses near Main left standing after THE tornado.

Isn't it, though.

I looked at the company's site a little further, and I'm actually rather impressed with their mission statement.

Whoda thunk that there was a bow hunting and archery equipment manufacturer in little ol' Xenia?

Certainly not I. I always thought of it as a simple pit stop on the way across the state. ;)

Pink? It's pink!?!?!
I wouldn't want to be seen dead using a pink bow.

Indeed. And not just pink. Camouflage pink. And not really a pretty camo pink either. (I've linked the word "Barbie" to the company's site, if you haven't checked it out already.)

I have to laugh.

Exactly! It's kind of hideous.

THAT IS AWESOME!!!

I mean...I'm not sure that pink is really the color you want if you're actually going to hunt with it...but it tickles me, anyway. There was a girl that got kind of famous up in Northern OC for entering pistol competitions with a stainless steel revolver that had been chemically treated to turn it pink. She was a pretty good shot, too, from what I hear.

I notice on the page for the product that they sell two models: one for hunting and one for archery. Which I, knowing exactly nothing about such things, find interesting.

And yeah, it's kind of a neat idea, but . . . couldn't they have come up with something . . . I don't know . . . classier?

Of course the pink camo will come in handy when you're trying to blend in to all the surrounding pink foliage.

Yes, the pink foliage. *nods seriously* Yeah, it would be good to have one of these just in case an entire forest is struck by a huge exploding tank of pepto, or something.

*snort* There will be a Sarah Palin Barbie - there just has to be.

I think it might have to be a Sarah Palin Teresa doll (Barbie's brunette friend).

I don't think they've ever done political Barbies. They could for their collector series . . .

First Lady Barbies! I'd collect those.

Good old Xenia! I lived in Beavercreek for 3 years in the early 70s when it was just a township so we had to use Xenia as our address. My dad was stationed at Wright-Pat at the time. we were there during the tornado, though I was too young to really understand what was happening.

Oh, I remember when Beavercreek was just a township. I was a small child then. It's grown a lot.

I don't remember the tornado, but my parents definitely do.
