October Rose

I thought the rose in September was pretty wonderful. Well, about 3-4 days ago, Geo brought in an October rose. Red, I think off the "peppermint bush," which means that bush is dividing back into the two types of roses that made up the hybrid. Or I could be mistaken. Maybe it is off a red rose bush. It's been so long since we've had any blooms that I forget which bush is which.
But still . . . a rose in October. If this is at all metaphorical of my life, I hope it means my best days are still to come.
In other news, not much has changed. We've had zero movement on the house. We're having a garage sale this weekend (Fri-Sun), and the weather is cold and damp. Yippee skippy. We did sell the birdcage early. I listed it in the newspaper, and we had someone come look at and buy it yesterday. Had someone come by today inquiring about it, too. Now if our other stuff could go just as easily, I'd be tickled.
Worked a schoolday performance today. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. A good production, but they watered down the message a little bit. Since when does Aslan not know about the deeper magic? (Or did I miss something?) It made me want to see the movie again. (Yes,
izhilzha, I know I need to read the whole series.) It was a long morning, but it kept me busy, and my paycheck will like it.
Baked pumpkin pie this afternoon. I do love pumpkin baked goods.
Looking forward to Friday TV as usual. The Doctor and Numb3rs. I wonder if I have time to watch a Northern Exposure while I have my dinner.

Now you're making me want to ask what exactly the line(s) were, because I could tell you yay or nay, but I'm not sure what exactly you mean here....

Date: 2006-10-20 12:49 am (UTC)That's all paraphrased, but does it make sense?
I don't remember it actually reading that way. But it's been so long, I could be mistaken.

Date: 2006-10-20 02:30 am (UTC)Maybe you misheard? Or they flubbed it? Because that should be: that there was a deeper magic she did not know about.
