Hey, don't I know you from somewhere?

Wow. It seems like much and nothing has been going on, and that every time I think I want to post about something, my energy to do so just drains away. I've had thinky thoughts recently on thespic experience, and lack of time with Geo (his b-day passed by yesterday with nary a ripple in the usual activities; we're going to celebrate with the fam in a couple of weeks), reading, and the like.
On September 5, Geo and I went with some of his work friends to see Bob Newhart in DC, on Mr. Newhart's 79th b-day, no less. It was a pleasant evening, and Geo got a HUGE kick out of the performance. Mr. Newhart really has no use for political correctness. And since he lives in Los Angeles, lots of his jokes dealt with that.
Q: How can you tell when your house has been burglarized by a Vietnamese gang?
A: Your dog is missing, but your child's math homework is done.
I'm involved in a murder mystery/dinner theater fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity, while Geo continues rehearsal for Something's Afoot.
And last Friday, we went with his cast to karaoke night at a Mexican eatery in Charlottesville. Geo and I opted not to sing this time around, but maybe at some future date. I think I'd have been more inclined to participate if I'd been with good friends, people who know me better, like Izhi and Cheese Elf. Girls? Put that on our list of things to do the next time I'm out your way. Plinking and karaoke. Preferably not at the same time.
I think any other deep, thinky posts will have to be separate.
Carry on.

Date: 2008-09-16 04:42 pm (UTC)You know me too well. I had a ton of fun doing private karaoke with Izh and Val...not sure I could do it in front of a bunch of random people, though my "look at me!" side kicks in at odd times, so you never know...
The Vietnamese joke = *sporfle*
