I mentioned this to [livejournal.com profile] kalquessa yesterday, and she was, reportedly, mildly amused . . .

Do you realize that both MacGyver and Young MacGyver were at your con last weekend?

There could totally have been a Q&A session.

Well, okay, maybe not, but still, that woulda been kinda cool.

I'm afraid MacGyver would only have one question: "How the hell are you my nephew?"

Now, if they had presented Clay as say, one of Mac's many foster kids who when he came of age decided to take Mac's last name as his own - I would have bought it.

I've watched "Young MacGyver" on YouTube and well, wasn't all that impressed - not with Jared's performance, but with the general storyline.

Yeah, I watched it on YouTube, too. And I wasn't overly impressed either. But Jared was cute and played well. And that voice!

But I can see why it wasn't picked up. There really wasn't anything original about it.

I can't recall, Ruth. Are you a TS fan? Because Jared is going to play Thomas Kincaid in an upcoming movie, and Richard Burgi is going to play his dad.

*starts humming "It's a Small World"*

It has been soo long since I've seen "The Sentinel" - yes! I liked it very much when it was on. I have been waiting for the Thomas Kincaid movie since Christmas when it was supposed to have been released. Peter O'Toole plays Thomas Kincaid's mentor - which is one of the other reasons I want to see it.

Don't know if you know this, but Christmas Cottage (http://www.thechristmascottagemovie.com/index.html) is being released directly to DVD. I guess they didn't get a theatrical distributor.

I think you mean "wildly amused" there, Fee. It's okay, it's easy to get those Ms mixed up with those Ws.

I can only imagine how hilarious that panel would be. RDA would spend the whole time asking questions like, "Really, there was a MacGyver spin-off? For kids? How come no one ever told me about this?" and "Are you sure you were supposed to be my nephew? I guess you're tall enough, but..."

Then he would probably decide that everyone needed to hear his story about how when you're filming in Antarctica your poop freezes, again. And Jared would spend the entire thing alternating between laughter and being completely nonplussed.

:-D Yes, to the point where people are asking you if something is wrong, you're laughing so gleefully.

Truly, wouldn't that be hilarious? Wonder if they could get RDA as a guest on SPN. Maybe for a humor ep?
