So, LJ has been wonky of late, and I didn't get to write up my first-blush.

Also, iTunes is slow getting the ep uploaded (first time all season), so I haven't re-watched.

Interestingly enough, I found this ep to be rather exciting, but I couldn't tell you exactly why, because most of my comments aren't necessarily glowing. ???

1) I want proof that Jodi is alive. Because if they brought her back just to kill her off, I shall be mightily ticked.

2) Bummer that we don't get to keep Josie!Abaddon. I liked her as a villain, and I would have put money on her being next season's big bad. Abaddon is still out there, so there's that, but we lose the actress. Bummer.

3) Whenever Sam and Dean split up during something like this, Bad Things happen. When will they learn this?

4) I haven't had much use for Naomi this season, but was delighted to see her see the error of her ways. Of course as soon as she gets on the right track, she gets killed. Sadly, there are no good angels.

Not even Castiel. As heart-in-the-right-place as he is, he's constantly and continually making poor decisions. He's apparently forgotten everything he's learned from Dean about using proper judgement, which is very frustrating. Oy.

5) I've read that Osric Chau (aka Kevin Tran) is catching up on the show from the beginning and tweeting his commentary. I saw this tweet among the others: "Just one time can Dean just say "Told you so"?! No one ever listens to him and he's always right!" I'm with ya, Osric. I've been saying this for years.

6) Which sort of leads me to the reconciliation speeches. Sam? The thing you're most repentant of is all the times you've let Dean down? I appreciate that. But think about it. You want to make up for all the times you've let him down by getting yourself killed? Really? This is a solid plan to you? How about in the future, you . . . you know . . . just not let him down anymore? How about trusting his judgement? Or when he says that something is bad, that you listen to him? Or if he trusts someone, you either a) trust his judgement; or b) explain to him like an adult why you disagree, rather than just throwing a fit? Then turning it around on Dean . . . well, sometimes when Dean makes like you need a chaperone, sometimes it's because . . . you do. Because a lot of times when you go off on your own, thinking you're doing the right thing, you actually put yourself in a worse situation than you were in before. Once upon a time, you guys did trust each other. Then Ruby came along, and five years later, we're still working through that. And whatever happened to wanting to bring Dean into the light? You really thing that's possible if you're dead? Listen to him when he says he killed his comrade in arms Benny in order to save you. That he's willing to let Crowley go to keep you from getting killed. "If hunting this demon means getting yourself killed, then I hope we never find the damn thing." Remember that, Sam? What the makes you think you're of any less value to Dean now than you were then?

7) I was intrigued to see a semi-cured Crowley. Part of me didn't trust him, but part of me thought it was fascinating, a little touching, even, to see him realize all the destruction and pain he'd caused.

8) For a while now, I've thought that sealing the gates of Heaven and Hell would be problematic, because what would happen to the human souls that need to cross over after death? Would they still be able to get in, or would they be stuck, thus keeping Sam and Dean busy with the soul of every person who dies, and even then, would the salt-and-burn still work? Problematic indeed, though Metatron made it sound like Heaven at least would still be open to human souls.

9) So does this mean that there's now way for Cas to recover his grace? It's been used up in the spell?

10) All those angels ejected from Heaven. That will be the goal next season, it appears: to get the angels back to Heaven. This poses some interesting possibilities.

11) Was glad they finally took Kevin to the bunker.

12) Thought it was really cool and tension-creating when the MoL power started kicking on and off and the map started lighting up when the angels started falling like meteors.

While it might not sound like it from these comments, I actually did find the ep to be reasonably exciting. It kept my interest, and I hope they do something interesting with where they left the story.

I actually am kind of looking forward to re-watching when the download comes through.
