The long version will come later. The first blush short version is this:

So much Dean love!

Dean's new room! WITH CLASSIC VINYL RECORDS!!! And weapons! (Flashes of Jayne Cobb) And a pic of wee!Dean and Mommy!Mary! A neatly made bed! Memory foam! Dean's glee!

A full kitchen! Dean and his awesome burgers. Dean and the grill! (Hey, we knew he did at least some of the cooking during his year with Lisa.)

For all those with a glasses fetish, we get glasses!Dean.

And Dean's guitar riff! Oh, how I love what they've done to the riff! *jams and headbobs on the couch*

Dean's speech about the world ending bloody dying with a gun in his hand. Wanting Sam to get out and have kids and live to a ripe old age. Oh, Dean. You break my heart into itty bitty pieces.

Sam's speech to Dean. Oh, my. Dean has needed to hear that for ages. What took you so long, Sammy? (And man, this is a 180˚ turn-around from the first half of the season. Yeah, the disconnect still feels weird to me.) Dragging your brother along with you to the light at the end of the tunnel. Informing Dean that he is a genius. Yes, yes, yes. A thousand times, yes.

I have a couple of issues with this ep, the biggest of which is that Sam is going to do all the trials. Seriously, A) we've been down this Sam is the "Chosen One" road before; and B) three trials would be perfect for testing the brothers both individually and as a team. In a way, it almost feels like a "do-over" with Kripke's original plan for some reason.

But still. So much Dean love in this ep. Well, except for when the girl was hallucinating, which seriously freaked me out. Like, I physically jumped/squirmed/cringed into the couch. Eeeek!!! You just don't do that to the pretty.

Because Jensen looked really good.

Addendum: I'm suspecting that things might not be as they appear with the trials. Perhaps this is wishful thinking on my part, but I'm wondering (with Sam's emphatic comments that Dean is a genius) but that something won't happen that Dean has to complete a trial--the last one (bottom of the ninth with two strikes, two men out, and the bases loaded). Hm . . . We shall see.

Yeah, these last three episodes, man. I don't even know. They just keep getting better!

I was literally crying through Dean's speech and then Sam's speech too- that never happens :P
