Care to take a tour of Jensen's home that's been placed on the market? Follow me.

It seems to me that real estate pictures always make the rooms look larger. Wide angle lens, so they can fit everything in one shot?

Just FYI: I want his kitchen, too. Except maybe a different finish other than chrome on the appliances. But the gas stove? *wants* The breakfast bar? *wants* I'd like to see just how much counter space he has. But then, he has the breakfast bar, so, yeah, counter space.

I've already mentioned that I want the pool. Because, dudes. I've missed having access to a nice pool for years. Someday . . .

The outside cooking area is nifty, too. I'll just be happy when George has a chance to finish the patio he started out our back door last summer.

I didn't realize that Brentwood is so far outside of L.A. (ETA: Val points out that Brentwood is a neighborhood in L.A. as well as a city near San Fran. This makes much more sense. /ETA) Per the article, he bought the house in 2009, so that was during . . . S4/S5, I think? And while $3.5mil sounds like a ton of money to me--more than I'll see in my lifetime--it's actually pretty reasonable for the area, is it not? Oddly enough, I don't know what the square footage on my house is, so I don't know how the square footage compares to house-to-house. The yard isn't all that much bigger than our yard back in Ohio (we had a quarter of an acre there; we've got a beautiful 1.33 acres here), but of course we didn't (and don't) have a guest house, either. With two buildings sitting on the property, I'm guessing there's very little yard space, if any. But then, there's that nice little "courtyard" area with the pool, so that works.

Fannish speculation: Given when he bought it, and suspecting how little time he probably actually spent in it, and reading about all the upgrades and improvements, I'm wondering if he bought it primarily as an investment property. Also, if I'm sussing out the timing correctly, he proposed to Danneel in 2009, yeah? So I'm wondering if they bought it together as an investment property, or if they bought it and it just didn't work out for them convenience-wise (he in Vancouver most of the time, and she, I assume, working in L.A.) and never spending time there. He mentioned at a convention that he doesn't have a vehicle right now, that when he's in Ca, they drive Danneel's car, and Jensen sold his truck to his father-in-law because he (Jensen) never drove it. How much more expensive would it be to maintain a house you never use?

This is just me wondering out loud.

I also wonder, since it was built in 1947, what the history of the house is, if anyone interesting lived there or owned it before. Our house in Ohio was built in 1919, and it had a lot of character to it, and though we didn't know much about the history of the people who lived there through its existence, we did learn things here and there.

Also, keeping it among friends . . . the real estate agent is Chris Carlson. Relation to Steve? Dad, maybe? Or brother? Or coincidence? Dad, I think.

Anyway, for you Home and Garden geeks, there ya go. Nice place.
