The thought just occurred to me . . .

The thought just occurred to me: Dean is slightly out of phase.
I need to get my highlights/rambly post written. I just haven't had a lot of time. Maybe tonight.
But the though has occurred to me that there's a wrinkle in Dean's timeline, and he's slightly out of phase.
1) Disappearing beer.
2) Four weeks vs. four days.
3) Sleeping for thirty-six hours.
4) Sam was at Standford "a couple years ago." At first I thought this was just a figure of speech, but now I'm wondering . . .
5) Responding to Sam's voice-mail message before he gets to the details of Sam's voice-mail message. "No, no, no, that's wrong," before he/we hear the part about vetalas being loners.
Now, he must only be slightly out of phase, because nothing has been more out of whack than usual. And being around Frank isn't an accurate gauge because he has his own problems with perception.
But there is something hinky going on with Dean's place in the space-time continuum.
Curiouser and curiouser . . .

And hinkiness in the space-time continuum is the best.

Maybe it's all that zapping through time he's done. He's lost a nano-second here and a nano-second there and now it's starting to catch up.

;-)
Am eagerly looking forward to it, though.

Date: 2012-01-11 11:06 pm (UTC)My personal speculation at this point is that something is strange with Dean's timeline and he's out of phase in some way. I don't have details, or any way of explaining it better, but that's my supposition right now.
I don't know anything about 7.12 except what was in the promo trailer and the promo still. (And I accidentally got spoiled that apparently Chronos is supposed to show up in the next ep.) That's it. So this is all speculation based on what the show has given us up to this point.
I'll be interested to see how it all fits together.

That's been the subject of much debate and fudging. Kripke himself has said the implied 2-year thing (Dean and Sam had not spoken in 2 years) was a mistake. But we fans know how to make it work.
But how long Sam was in college isn't what Dean was saying. What Dean was saying was that Sam was in college "a couple years ago." And I'm thinking, "Um . . . you mean six years ago, Dean? Closer to seven?" I thought it an odd reference, but just took it as a figure of speech. Until I started looking at just how many time references were made in the ep.
Wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff all through this ep.
