DEAN IS A CLOSET AIR SUPPLY FAN!!! Or, at least a fan of rock ballads. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Also, Swayze!!! Swayze always gets a pass! Of course he does.

They found something to permanently--well, essentially permanently--disable the leviathans!!!! Common, everyday, household Borax. Yay!

Methinks the guys probably had fun with this one. Getting to be their evil twins? Yeah.

And speaking of evil twins: *whimper*

S1 shout-outs!

St. Louis! Where Dean killed a 'shifter wearing his face. *gasp*

Sheriff Mills! Jody!

Bobby's impulsive kiss. Hee!

As for the Amy reveal getting out. Eek!

Crowley! *squee* And the dynamic between the leviathan and Crowley. I'm . . . hm . . .

And Sam leaving? *flail* Been there, done that. It didn't work the last time, guys. What makes you think it will work this time?

And Sam? Remember when you said you were wrong every single time you walked away? I realize old habits die hard, but dude. Dude.

*sigh* *slaps boys upside heads*

Is it next week yet?

I thought it was a great episode. As for Sam walking away...you're right...old habits die hard. Can't wait 'til next week.

So many flappy hands of both glee and dismay!!

The WHOLE ENTIRE SCENE in the magical unicorn car left me almost dead from trying to laugh without waking up the kid.

And oh yeah, the boys had fun playing their doppelgangers. "I like the hair on this one better." Heeeeee!

And Sam? Remember when you said you were wrong every single time you walked away?

For the record, as far as we know, Sam's not walking away from hunting (which is, if I recall, what he was talking about when he said that). He's just walking away from Dean. Which...is probably not a terrible idea, given the givens. I'd say "he'll be back" but the teaser for next week has pretty much already done that for me, so.

And speaking of next week, looks like we're back to more monsters of the week. I am pleased.

Very much word on this. *nods* *flappy hands*

RE: Sam's walking away . . . I'm thinking of the conversation when Dean was going to say yes to Michael. Sam found him, called him on it, on Dean's throwing in the towel and walking away from the fight, and Dean told him, "All you've ever done is walk away." To which Sam replied, "And I was wrong every time I did." From hunting, from Dad, from Dean . . . It's all mixed together.

He's walked away from Dean several times. "Scarecrow," he left Dean to go find John (the ultimate goal being to find the demon and avenge Jess, so not walking away from the hunt, just from Dean). "Hunted," he left Dean to go investigate his psychic-ness. (Again, not walking away from his problems, but rather walking away to investigate. Just walking away from Dean.) "Good God, Y'all" he walked away because he wasn't fit for hunting. (Yes, walking away from the hunt. And Dean.) Each time we've watched him walk away (or heard about his walking away), Dean has been collateral damage, at least. So just walking away from Dean but keeping with the hunt . . . I'm not sure that's any better or any different than previous walk-aways.

I understand Sam wanting some space. But telling Dean to go on without him? While there are indestructible leviathans after both of them? I'm not seeing the wisdom in this particular move. I would think they'd know by now bad things happen when they split up.

But as you say, it looks like they're back together next week, so we'll have to see how much gets straightened out.

And speaking of next week, looks like we're back to more monsters of the week. I am pleased.</i. Yes, indeed. I'm most happy to be revisiting the old pattern of MotW with big bad on the side. It's been a delightful respite. Also: Yay, you! You're caught up and current with Show! I am pleased. :-D

You're right, I was misremembering the context of that comment of Sam's. Still. I wouldn't see this as being even intended as a long-term separation, and not just because they're obviously back together next week. It just looked like Sam needing space in which to not hit his brother to me.

However . . .

Sam and Dean will both have to go back to the cabin (though Dean's the one with the car, so Sam's gonna either have to boost another ride or hitchhike), where Bobby will call them idjits and cuff them upside the head and send them out on a new case.

*nods*

Why, yes, I am spamming this comment

I am spamming this comment because you so rarely have time to come out and play anymore and this episode was made of flappy hands of all sorts.

Dodger_winslow wrote an interesting entry on her take on the last scene. She's got some interesting points, and the more I think about it, the more her explanation gives me the balance I've been saying I want. Credit J&J, who re-wrote the scene to be in character, as apparently the first draft had them going, "I'm not saying that!" and calling Sera and Bob to tell them they're re-writing the dialogue.

Give it a quick skim here (http://dodger-winslow.livejournal.com/280498.html#comments).

Also, hearts in the cupcakes.

Hee! That's a cool post by Dodger, I wouldn't have made the connection with Dean walking away in...what was that? Metamorphosis? But that's a nice piece of symmetry, and I did interpret this scene much the way I did that one. And as she points out, it's really nice when the writers actually watch this show from time to time.

I love that J and J own the characters that much at this point. And I'm curious what the original scene looked like, now.

I didn't make a connection between Dean getting ready to leave and Sam's habitual pattern of walking away, but I like Dodger's point that while Sam is keeping to pattern (whether for a few hours, a few days, or a few weeks), Dean's simple, "Okay. I'm sorry," shows growth for Dean.

I'd be thrilled if they trusted each other enough to know that even when they are seriously angry at each other and seriously want to clobber each other, that Sam actually leaving isn't a threat to Dean, and that there's some balance and maturity in how they handle their differences.
