That turned out WAY better than I expected - I anticipated an hour of cringing at Generic CW Actress trying to carry off being The Mother of All.
But somebody came to their senses and they let Samantha Smith do it. And she ROCKED.
Loved that they brought Crowley back - that the (yet another) stupid death of a great supporting character turned out to be a fake-out.
Loved that Cas is being Lured By Teh Dark Side. (I really like the discomfort with moral ambiguity that Misha is playing - taking the stance that the character, for all his "I am a BAMF and you know it"-ness, is pretty much in over his head and floundering for a solution.)
Loved Dean and his Jefferson Starships. Makes me think of a long-ago (perhaps alcohol-fueled) conversation between him and John re: that particular band.
LOVED Dean and his solution. BWAH!
Killing off Lilith 2.0 is a win any way you look at it.
Loved Dean's insistence on rescuing Dean & Sam 2.0 regardless of the cost - and then the discovery that they'd gone bad. Poor boys. The reunion scene with the boys and their uncle was very sweet, poignant and well-played.
The one bit that made me pout? Killing off Eleanor.
And I didn't see any indication that your prediction for the cliffhanger will prove wrong. Still holding out hope for that.
