First. Did anyone notice that when Dean goes back to investigate the dentist's office, and everything is blood splattered, that there is no void where Mr. Perv Patient was sitting when he was drilled through the brain?

Grissom and/or Langston and/or Nicky and/or Greg and/or any of the CSI team would have called that immediately and been suspicious. Why, yes, I have added CSI back into my viewing schedule. Why do you ask?

Now, about Dean . . .

Dean is totally father material, in spite of his protestations to the contrary. Why do I say this? Well . . .

Someone (Blacklid? Tahirire?) asked why is it that alphas only show up when Dean is around. I'll take that just a little bit further and remind y'all that the djinn kids were looking for revenge on Dean for killing their father. Hm . . . Coincidence?

Was the djinn in WIaWSNB a potential alpha of some sort?

Does Dean's desire for fatherhood somehow make him tasty and/or a particularly more formidable opponent for these alphas?

Is this a half-baked theory?

Am I making this up as I go?

SO MANY QUESTIONS!

Looking back, I assume that somehow Sam let the djinn kids know where Dean was, setting him up as bait for them. They wanted revenge on him for their own father...what a perfect setup for the trap...and seeing how his planned worked, Sam saw his next weapon...his brother. Same with the shapeshifter. I think Sam used Dean and the baby for bait. And now we know for a fact he used him as bait for the vampire. I'm not sure it's related to Dean being "father" material. However, that said, I don't know WHY it is they are drawn to him, unless it's simply because Sam has been setting him up. You're right about one thing....SO MANY QUESTIONS!

*gasp* You know, I was wondering how that would all fit in, given that Sam told the story that the djinn attacked him first, and he and the rest of the clan figured that they'd go after Dean next. Which means that Sam wasn't lying about getting poisoned by the djinn. But it did not occur to me that Sam might actually have deliberately taken the opportunity to use Dean as bait. Oh, Sam. How could you? Oh, wait. We know now.

I just think it's interesting that this whole season seems to revolve around the idea of fathers, and how Dean wants to be one (and be a better one than John), but doesn't think he can . . .

SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!

Yeah, I don't think he was lying about the djinn poisoning him first. But I think that's when he got the idea to set up the djinn using Dean. And since that worked, he did it again. And again. Or even if he DIDN'T set up Dean (though I think he did), after seeing how that all played out, THEN he started formulating his "bait" plan.
