Man, sometimes I forget how much I like this movie. It's so . . . good. Not particularly deep or insightful, but it's so freakin' much fun.

I couldn't help but notice as I was watching how consciously comfortable I was with Michael calling Sam "Sammy" on a regular basis. Not that it was unusual, of course. It just sounded . . . familiar. Heh.

Also? Scary vampires. Ugly, scary vampires. Like vampires are supposed to be. None of the tortured, tormented, pasty, sparkly garbage. Just outright, tempting, evil vampires, and a genuine struggle to get out from under their influence without, you know, getting killed in the process. (I am totally with Jensen when he says he wants to kill some vampires properly this season. Yes!)

Also also? Every time David (Keiffer Sutherland) did something bad-A or evil, my first thought was "the future Jack Bauer." I'm not a Keiffer Sutherland fan per se, but what I've seen of his stuff (this, Dark City, the first season of 24), I like.

THE FASHION! Oh. My. Word. At one point, I asked Geo, "What is he wearing?" in response to one of Corey Haim's (Sam) costume pieces.

The movie is so deliciously 80s. (It was released the year I graduated high school.)

Geo made an interesting comment that this movie changed the look and face of horror movies. I can't really explain in further detail right now, but he has a point.

That, and he has the most awesome "Death By Stereo". But for the most part, his hair gets to do most of the acting in this one.

Poor guy, probably highlighting the script and making notes "Hair flip, hair flip, cool laugh, scowl... ooh 'Goin' for a ride, man!'... scowl, scowl... hair flip..."

Such a hottie, though. Even mostly silent. :-)
