In many ways, this ep was self-explanatory. In other ways, I'm gonna have to ponder (and watch my download, because our CW affiliate is incapable of broadcasting the show without dropping something key--usually Dean snark) before I can form fully coherent sentences on this ep.

I will say that I was very proud of Sammy. Yes! He can be taught!

And yes, Sammy, Dean!girl though I am, and though I do think the actor who plays Crowley is very cool and I love the way he plays him, I, too, was skeptical of Dean riding with him and leaving you behind. Part of me was going, "See? That's how it feels. Only he didn't leave you bloody and beaten." Otoh, I'm thinking, "Dean. Dude. You cannot trust Crowley to watch your back. Seriously."

I kinda really like that Dean can still see hellhounds.

Also? Sam got to kill the demon that killed Jess. That was rather awesome in the whole full-circle scheme of things.

Crowley's proposal to Bobby was intriguing, but again, demon. Can't be trusted.

Trailers for next week? *flail*

Can he? I always just assumed that went away and he's been shooting in the general vicinity of chomping.

I get the impression that he can still see them. It seems he looks at very specific focal points, whereas everyone else just sort of looks around wondering WT??? is that growling coming from, and shoots in the general direction of growling and chomping.

I think I like it because it is a holdover from his time in the Pit. Something traumatic but, you know, useful.

Admittedly I had thought that he couldn't see them, but there sure seemed to be some focused shooting happening from Dean in this one. :)

I got the impression (and liked the idea) that Dean could still see the hellhounds back in AAH, when he was kind of expositor telling Sam, Ellen, and Jo (and the audience) that Meg had hellhounds with her. He seemed to be very specific in his focus. Jo, otoh, confused me. I decided that her shooting was scary accurate because she's a really good shot and knew the hounds were on top of and attacking Dean.

I hope that made sense.

Exactly. :-)
