The specific story that the author is talking about is in I Kings 19, when Elijah was running from Jezebel.

But did it totally bring to mind Castiel bringing Dean a much needed lunch? Of course it did. :-)

I think the fic was In Excelsis, which has two awesome companion pieces, as well. They make a little trilogy about Dean, Sam, and Cas that I rather liked.
