I just read that there's a musical version of The Addams Family that was moved to Broadway last month, and that Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth play Gomez and Morticia.

That. Is. Perfect!

Food as inspiration for song

Several weeks ago, we sang "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" in church. Then, in Sunday school class, we had what Geo's dad fondly called "waxy donuts," those little Hostess chocolate-covered donuts where the chocolate has the texture of a very soft paraffin.

Well, combine the two, and this is what you get. WARNING: If you know the melody, it will get stuck in your head. Sing at your own risk.

Snowflake cookies

Last month, I made reference to a recipe for cookies that my mom makes, called snowflake cookies. just_ruth requested the recipe, and here I am, finally getting around to it, after making a batch. Considering the weather, I thought it appropriate. :-)

This is an old recipe from my Great-Aunt Ono. It is my bro's favorite.

SPN - 5.13 "The Song Remains the Same" . . . Still cogitating

I've put off doing this write-up for several reasons. First, I'm not getting as much . . . enjoyment . . . out of them as I did last season, or as I did last summer. Show is starting to make my brain hurt, and while I can still watch it (and I'm all for people pointing me to the squee, because squee is more fun than no squee), it's taking me longer to suss out what I think of things.

Which is what's going on here. I'm still trying to figure out just what I think of this ep. So bear with me. Or move along (nothing to see here). Whichever. :-)
