Food as inspiration for song

Several weeks ago, we sang "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" in church. Then, in Sunday school class, we had what Geo's dad fondly called "waxy donuts," those little Hostess chocolate-covered donuts where the chocolate has the texture of a very soft paraffin.
Well, combine the two, and this is what you get. WARNING: If you know the melody, it will get stuck in your head. Sing at your own risk.

Sung to the tune of “Come Thou Fount”
Dedicated to my dad, Russ, who always referred to those small chocolate covered cake doughnuts as “waxy.”
(He loved them, by the way.)
Waxy Do-nuts, they’re so lovely,
Waxy Do-nuts, they’re so grand.
Waxy Do-nuts in a baggie,
Waxy Do-nuts in your hand.
You can use them as a ca-andle,
When your ‘lectric lights go black,
Waxy Do-nuts, oh so tasty,
In your waxy paper sack.
Well, combine the two, and this is what you get. WARNING: If you know the melody, it will get stuck in your head. Sing at your own risk.
