That?

Was pretty good.

There were some annoying bits to it, I'll admit. But overall? It was actually pretty enjoyable.

Old school ghosts! \o/

Loved the contrast between the con-goers thinking they knew what they were doing, and Sam and Dean actually knowing what they were doing.

I've always loved the fact that Sam and Dean's grave digging has nice, sharp corners. Tonight it was no different. But then the contrast with the faux!Winchesters, whose corners were more rounded. Ha!

While the character of Becky gets annoying after a while, the actress who plays her is a hoot.

When Dean was hitting on the ghost actress, who said there was something different about Dean: he wasn't afraid of women. Geo got a big kick out of that. (My response was more along the lines of yeah, he's cuter than the rest of them.)

I am tickled to pieces that I was right (or at least, sort of right) that Alistar was (or was named after) Aleister Crowely.

But seriously, Kripke, now that you've beaten the whole fandom/meta thing into the ground, can we please forget you have a fandom and tell the freakin' story?

Not sure how I feel about Becky being the one to give the guys a lead on the Colt, but I suppose they had to get it from somewhere.

Dean's smile. Have I mentioned recently that I love Jensen's smile? Have I ever mentioned that I love Jensen's smile? Well, yeah.

I've got a busy weekend coming up, so hopefully I'll be able to get to my long review Sunday. Because surprisingly, there was a lot in this that I liked.

I think I kinda loved it!

Yeah, Becky annoyed, but she had some redemption at the end. Becky and Chuck 4EVA! Hee!

I liked the ghost chick. She can come back.

The beginning drug a little, but all in all, I'm much much happier than I thought I'd be. Old school fun!

Enjoy your busy weekend.

Re watched it this morning before work. And yeah, I kinda love this ep. Moreso with each re-watching.

I also think I kinda love Becky now. "My yin to his proud yang" I think was what sent it over the top. I'm sorry, but the girl cracks me up.

And how ironic is it that this one aired the Thursday before a convention weekend? HA!!!

Will comment more on all of it, the fun, the thinky, and the ironic, when I have time. (Hopefully, tonight.)

That was my reaction to the ep.

It indicates that Kripke lost his game and now get ideas and retcon from fans.

Dean's smile. Have I mentioned recently that I love Jensen's smile? Have I ever mentioned that I love Jensen's smile? Well, yeah.
And that was actually the only good thing in the ep, imo.

I actually kinda love this ep, in a completely different way than I love classic SPN. I'll go more into it in my long write up, but I thought there was much to enjoy in this one.

However, I also hope Kripke now has this out of his system and that he will get back to telling the story he started out to tell back in S1, about the Brothers and their back-to-back fight against evil.

I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would. But again, Dean wasn't wearing his ring, nor was he wearing it in the preview. Just makes me wonder why, ya know?

I didn't notice, but as soon as the show was over, I asked Geo if he noticed if Dean was wearing his ring. To which he said, "I didn't see it. I didn't see the pendant, either." To which I replied, "Well, Castiel borrowed that. Remember? He hasn't worn that all season."

Dean was wearing his ring in "Curious Case . . . " Right? *goes to check* Yes, he's wearing it in the last scene of Curious Case . . .

So somewhere between Curious Case and Changing Channels, he stopped wearing the ring. Why??????

You think someone will ask about it at the con this weekend?

Overall, yes, I enjoyed this ep much more than I thought I would. And I really enjoyed the old school SPN case story.

Yeah, he was wearing it at the end of Curious Case in that last scene with Bobby. Then it's just gone. Hopefully someone will ask because for some reason, it's just bugging me not knowing the reason why.

I am curious about the missing ring, too. I think future!Dean was missing the ring in the episode "The End".

Did a quick check on the screen caps, and you're right! Future!Dean is not wearing the ring.

Curiouser and curiouser.

I re-watched it again this morning, and I actually kind of love this ep. But I'll get into the fun, the thinky, and the ironic when I do my long write-up.

Becky has actually started to grow on me. The actress is an absolute hoot in the role, and her "my yin to his proud yang" pretty much sent it over the top for me. Ha!

But, yeah. I hope Kripke has it out of his system now and will get back to telling the story he set out to tell in S1--the Brothers Winchester fighting back to back against the evils in the world. Current evil being, you know, Lucifer and the Apocalypse.

From a metaphoric POV I liked it as a companion piece to last weeks piece. You have the angels screaming at you to step up, then you have the humans who are inadvertendly encouraging it. One is asking for an angelic take over, the other validating what they do as human hunters. Sometimes Show is clever and I love it so.

However clever does not excuse Becky. God I HOPE that is the last time we see her, unless she appears to go head first under that shiny free rolling bus.

Having said that; I will forgive and accept that Becky recalled the nitpicky detail that Chuck could not. As a part of fandom and as someone who is aware of how 'deep' some peeps will go to look into things or connect things and all of that I can buy that Becky throws them a bone that Chuck had considered incidentally or just plain forgotten about.

Without Becky this eppy would have flown by with flying colours, with Becky its an odd love/hate thing I got going for it. And I never believed folks who said a char could make or break an episode before now.

And, see, I've kinda started loving Becky. In small doses. I think it's because the actress looked like she was having such fun playing the character. Over the top? Absolutely. And relishing every moment of it. It just made me laugh. It's actually gotten to the point where I see her as her own character rather than some fandom shout-out or meta.
