1. I miss the Roadhouse. It would have been neat to have that continuing point of contact and the occasional glimpse into the larger hunting subculture. I like the idea of the the Brothers Winchester having at least a small support network. I can understand, from a storytelling POV, keeping them insular (actually, I can see most hunters working this way--a small network of trusted cohorts, a professional civility with everyone else), but it'd be nice to at least hear about Ellen and/or Jo. You know? As it is at the beginning of "Playthings," it's almost like Ellen is their captain/dispatcher, suggesting hunts from a central locale.

2. When Sam makes Dean promise that Dean will kill Sam if Sam becomes something he's not? I couldn't help but think to myself, "That's exactly what Dean was doing when he tried to detox you, dude. He was keeping his promise. Not that he was actually gonna pull a trigger, but if you were gonna die from the detox, he wanted you to die human. Just like you asked here."

Oh, boys.

Yep. And i don't know why people have trouble to see it? If Sam was the same as in S2 (more sane) he'd asked why Dean didn't kill him already and he'd def wanted to die human.
