Huh.

I can live with that ending for the summer.

No surprises. I even called it without outside assistance that Lilith's death was the last seal, and that Sam would be the one breaking it.

Overall, I'm not really all that impressed with this particular ep, but we'll see how I feel after I see the download.

I'm delighted that Ruby was as evil as I always thought she was, and that she got got with her own knife. And that Sam and Dean killed her together.

I'm really disgusted with the tack they took on the God issue. Of course, I'm not sure what they could have done that I would have been okay with, but "God has left the building"? Seriously? I'll be ignoring that particular bit of dialogue, along with just about everything Zach said. Kripke really needs some oversight.

Also? Kripke is rather shortsighted on what Heaven and Paradise are like. The "Stepford" interpretation is so very, very . . . shortsighted.

Dean's comment about preferring pain and grief to a Stepford existence reminded me of a similar plot line in one of the Trek movies. Trek V, I think.

Cas. Oh, Cas. I'll have to think about you, my friend. What happened to "All these people are my Father's creation and are works of art"? Dude. However, Cas shedding his own blood to get Dean out of the room and on his way . . . that was most excellent.

However, I loved that the picture of Michael defeating Lucifer was so prominent in the conversation about Dean being the one to stop Lucifer. \o/

The most painful and most satisfying part was, as always, the brother storyline, with Dean trying to reconnect with Sam and Sam's "I'm sorry" at the end, and I slapped my hand over my mouth when Sam heard the fake message from Dean . . . so, yeah. The Brothers brought the goods as usual.

Okay, back to Kripke. This ep was both written and directed by Kripke. That . . . is not a good thing. He needs someone (or several someones) to give his stories focus and to keep them from going off on a tangent. Did he write "Heaven and Hell"? I don't recall. But the things I didn't like in this ep had the same flavor as the things I didn't like in that ep. I rather hope that Zach has some comeuppance coming to him for his cavalier attitude.

Okay, I need to finish packing. No, seriously. My niece is getting married this weekend, and we have a long trip tomorrow.

Carry on (wayward son. Which is still an excellent recap song).

I pretty much got my wish. Bobby lived, and the boyz ended up together. I'm a very happy fangurl.

Many thinky thoughts, but for now I'm enjoying the wallowing in relief.

Agree on Kripke's part. he did good with directing though.
I wasn't impressed with Sam's 'sorry' and i'm afraid it'll be the only time they'll address it and the next season they'll pretend that both brothers are ok with it. *meh*
But i didn't take Zach's words like you did. I'm on opposite side i think. For me his 'God's left the building' meant God had nothing to do with Zach's plan. I suspect God's will went through Anna and her group that wanted to stop it all. And i think it was God's plan to get rid of 'bad' angels.

I liked seeing the brothers together again, and killing Ruby at long last. I liked Cas rescuing Dean.

The rest of the ep made me feel sick to my stomach, and soul, and I think basically I'm done with the show. At the moment I'm done anyway. Unless they suddenly decide in the new season to allow God back into the picture.
