Who'da thunk
May. 12th, 2009 11:37 amI'm considering purchasing a $7.00 birch wood crochet hook. That's just nutty.
These are cool, too.
If you'd told me a year ago that I was considering spending $7 on a crochet hook, I'd have said you were crazy.
On the up side, for those who are into "buying local" or buying American made . . . If I invested in the birch hooks, my projects would be 100% North American: yarn from Canada (or the US), hook and artisan (and I use that term loosely) from America. :-)

Date: 2009-05-12 08:45 pm (UTC)I've also made a throw/afghan that, since it was my first attempt at such a thing, came out kinda funky, and completely took on a life of its own and got way out of control. :-)
I'm also working on an afghan for Geo for his b-day, and another one that I might give to Project Linus (http://www.projectlinus.org/)
I'm also working on a Nosferatu for Geo (he wants it for his desk at work) that came out of the Creepy Cute Crochet listed above.
I've found a pattern for crochet snowflake garland, too, that I might attempt for the holidays. We shall see.
It's really quite fun, and a lot easier than I thought it would be once I figure out what I'm doing and the patterns to the stitches and all.
