As I mentioned last week, my Italian uncle, Uncle J. has passed away. It's not really surprising; he was in the final stages of Parkinson's, and if he was aware of what's going on, he knows that Aunt J2 died a few months back. We will miss him very much, but as Geo (whose father died of PSP, which is very similar to Parkinson's in many respects) says, Uncle J was already gone.

Still, it is very strange and sad to think that members of my generation, my cousins, are now parent-less.

Thank you to those f-listies who have expressed their condolences. I think I've been remiss in responding to them, and I do thank you very much.

In happier news, I think I might have found an outlet for my new crochet habit. And if I don't want to crochet, I can throw together one of my fleecy blankies. And there's apparently a chapter right here in Culpeper. Color me shocked.

So if anyone has any skills, and is of a mind, I wouldn't mind maybe starting our own little chatty group. Or I can create a filter and include interested parties. What say you?

Must finish packing. We've got an 8-hour drive to Li'l Bro's.

It's very strange being parent-less. It hits you in strange and unexpected ways. It's been a little over a year, and it still catches me. Sometimes out of no where, you're like "OMG! I'm an orphan."

Have a safe trip.

*hugs to the fam*

I am so blessed to still have both my parents. Particularly after my dad's multiple heart attacks and surgeries and bypasses many years ago. I just hope they'll have the opportunity to enjoy grandchildren.

Thank you.

*hugs*

*hugs* Thank you.

Today is the drive to Ohio. I've already informed C that I want to watch SPN tonight. So hopefully we'll get there in time.

Do you do any sort of crafty-type stuff that would be suitable for Project Linus? I'd be interested!

*hugs to your and your family*

I like the look of Project Linus...I and my siblings all had security blankets growing up, so I know how comforting they are.

Dude, I still sleep with my baby afghan. Over the *coughfortycough* years that I've had it, it's stretched to the point where I can old it up over my head, stretched out to my full length, it's almost as long as I am tall. In the morning, I use it as a wrap instead of wearing a robe. Heh.
