o.O
Sera has obviously been sharing Edlund's special brownies.
Smith and Wesson!!!! BWAH!!!
The boys looked good. Very good.
Interesting twist, though I'm not quite sure how I'm going to process it. *quietly processes*
Re: previews for next week . . . What are they smoking in that writer's room? O.o
More this weekend after the iTunes . . .

Date: 2009-03-27 03:10 am (UTC)But seriously, I think my favorite joke of the ep was the Smith and Wesson reference (Smith & Wesson, like Winchester, is a brand of gun).

Date: 2009-03-27 03:17 am (UTC)They still could have had their lighthearted episode and actually show Dean a little compassion at the end. I really do not like Sera Gamble's episodes anymore. She always finds ways to belittle Dean in them.

Date: 2009-03-27 11:47 am (UTC)Then we got Anna regaining her angelhood (bzuh?) without any indication of repentance or remorse for having disobeyed in the first place. Then we got Castiel being weaker than Alistair, which, again, I'm not down with. And we have Uriel's betrayal and all sorts of things that just make my brain hurt. And then last night we had Zechariah. I just . . .
The fact that Castiel seems to be the only angel without an attitude is really starting to bother me.
I've not re-watched the "moral of the lesson" yet, but "whiny" didn't ping my radar, probably because it got lost in the trying to find some redeeming qualities in this guy. In a way, I think that says more to the writing team's view of angels than it does their view of Dean.
And, yeah, you'll probably read all this again in my review, because as I said, it's starting to irk me.
As to belittling Dean's pain . . . if this is all we're gonna get to resolve last week's reveal . . . um . . . yeah. Not really gonna fly, guys. But given how they love to bring the angst, I kind of expect that this isn't it on the topic. At least, I hope not.

Date: 2009-03-28 02:04 am (UTC)I sincerely doubt it, just given how much the show loves Dean's man pain. *g*
(Also, I didn't hear any belittling of Dean's pain in that speech. It was an encouraging pep talk, even if Mr. Angle didn't quite know how to deliver it. Heck, it was encouraging to ME, in a "God are you talking to me through Show again?" kind of way. Heh.)
No more comments here; we shall have to chat on the phone. I really quite liked this episode, although the actor who played Zechariah is driving me crazy trying to figure out where I know him from....

Date: 2009-03-27 03:26 am (UTC)I really enjoyed the characterization of the boys. They still felt very much like Sam and Dean.
Like you, I'll have to process some more.

Date: 2009-03-27 03:36 am (UTC)Meh. We'll see.
But on the whole? The straight forward case and the putting the boys in a different environment? That I enjoyed. Up to a point.

Date: 2009-03-27 12:08 pm (UTC)In my mind, Zach wasn't minimizing Dean's experiences. He wanted Dean to find his fight again. To not only remind him that he is a born hunter, not because of his damn daddy or due to responsibilities to his family or even heaven. To tell him he is very capable, and in fact is the perfect man to face the challenge.
